Let me start this off by saying I don't consider myself very shoe savvy. I often shop based on look and price and rarely look past those 2 factors. So, while browsing for shoes, I came across the Adidas Tubular collection. They have a large assortment of colors, but the underlying design was the same. $75 was a perfect price point so I figured I would give them a try. As a friend once told me, "everyone needs at least 1 pair of red shoes."
Upon receiving them, I immediately put them on. They are super stylish and the design and look fits with many of my outfits. I am typically a jeans/khakis kind of guy with a plain or simple shirt so these complemented that look nicely. However, the first thing you notice about these is how uncomfortable they are. They hurt my feet and they felt like they weren't designed for a human foot. The length was nice and it was cushy on the heel, but the laces and overlay were super tight and did not fit well at all. I felt like I couldn't wear these for more than a couple hours before needing to take them off.
I gave it a couple days and hoped that once I "wore them in", they'd be more comfortable, but I still haven't been swayed. These are uncomfortable shoes. Period. I'll admit, I mildly stubborn, and since I like the look of these, I wear them when I know its going to be a short outing or a quick trip somewhere. But if I need to grab a pair of shoes for a day longer than 6 hours, these aren't my option.
Overall, it's up to you how much you value comfort over style/price. Again, they are super stylish and look really sleek. But man, make sure you don't wear them for an extended period of time. If I were to get another pair of Adidas, I would roll with the alpha bounce. I have two pairs and have never had this sort of discomfort with those.
