Jamie Lee Curtis

Halloween was on my list to see after my cancer treatment. I haven't been to a movie before 2008 due to medical reasons, but when you get cancer, things change. Did I have moments of panic? Yes! Did I have a wonderful manager that said she would refund my tickets if I couldn't make it through. Yes!! But guess what? I made it! I was so happy! I actually got to see one of my favorite movies of all time! Me and mom made it through and I got to mark something wonderful yet simple off my after cancer list!!

The movie was fanfreakingtastic too! I was very satisfied and can't wait for the blu ray to watch it over and over?!

I love you Lori and Michael! ❤️

  2. I don't go to the theater often, but we journeyed out into the world to see this new take on the Halloween story. It takes place as if no other movie was made than the first, and serves to answer the question of "what if he got caught?" There were many things I enjoyed about the film the first time, and there was one or two things that I didn't particularly enjoy about it. I was interested to see if a re-watch or any additional scenes would help answer some of the questions I had. While the film didn't really answer those questions, I found myself caring less about their explanations.

When I heard that Danny McBride and David Gordon Green were going to be involved with this Halloween revival, I thought of the many ways it could go. After the Rob Zombie run, which I'm the rare fan of because I just love anything Halloween, I was interested to see where we would go. I didn't see the serious take that this was, and it really has some unnerving moments that I didn't see coming. Knowing that the story was about Laurie Strode, I thought maybe we'd see some of her old self shine through and have some of those light-hearted moments.

Jamie Lee Curtis plays an extremely stressed out and on edge Laurie Strode who has been preparing for Michael Myers to come back for 40 years. What I love about this movie is that it honors the classic before it. Bringing back such important character requires some respect to the original, and it does so in every way. There are many shots throughout the film that are homages to their predecessors, and also one particular gag with Laurie that I thought was hilarious.

Everyone involved does a fantastic job at bringing this story to life. From Jamie to Judy Greet and Andi Matichak, and the supporting characters of Allyson's father and the wisecracking kid from the babysitter scene. I think that the music really breathes life into this movie, and it's fitting considering that the original Halloween had the same success with its now timeless score. I loved watching the special features and seeing how John Carpenter worked with his son and one other person to create this new, haunting score for Halloween.

Overall, this movie is well worth your time if you're a fan of the series or horror in general. It even passes for a fairly decent movie overall, and it's nice to see Jamie Lee Curtis back in the series and playing an integral part. She's long been distant from the horror genre but appears to have been ready to play this role her whole life. Special features included deleted scenes which are all pretty good, even one showing what happens to the dog that Michael Myers kills (let me tell ya, it's probably a good thing they deleted it lol). Also, we get to see a feature-length documentary about Jamie's trip to HorrorHound convention in Indianapolis I think in 2013, which was also really interesting to see how she honors the horror community and gives it her all.

Case came in great condition with 4K & Blu-ray copies, this release also included a digital copy.

Halloween Is Back - Laurie Strode Too! Halloween Is Back - Laurie Strode Too! Halloween Is Back - Laurie Strode Too!

I am a lifelong fan of the Halloween franchise. I simply cannot overstate what a fine addition to the series this film is. It is beautifully scripted and executed with gusto and clarity of purpose. It might be redundant to say that Jamie shines in the film but it really is the case here. I dare make the comparison to the Terminator films as her transformation is almost identical to that of Sarah Connor's in regards to the meek becoming the tough. The gore is intense but is also somewhat understated in that you don't see everything and like the original is the very definition less is more being far more frightening. The teenage characters, including Laurie's granddaughter, are about two notches above one dimensional but I didn't find that necessarily distracting as the young characters in the Halloween movies have always been that way and it is kind of a fingerprint of the films to have somewhat stereotypical caricatures of young people "AKA" Michael's prey . No spoilers here but I must say the ending was every bit as suspenseful as the film leading up to it and that has become very scarce in cinema these days. When all is said and done this flick is amazing in all respects and has earned it's place in the ranks of horror classics. Grab some popcorn and get ready to jump at the thrills and inevitably cheer on the heroes.

Fantastic movie... great follow up to 1978. A must have for any Halloween fan.

P.J. Soles does a voice-over as a teacher. Jamie Lee Curtis did a voice-over as a baby crying.

For this Halloween movie, we must ignore all the other sequels including Halloween II (1981) for this one is a direct sequel to Halloween (1978)...a new Halloween 2.
I think calling this movie just HALLOWEEN is going to be confusing to younger DVD buyers whom are not familiar with the Halloween film series, now 11 films in all.

Two podcasters from Great Britian, Aaron (Jefferson Hall) and Dana (Rhian Rees), visit Smith Grove's Sanitarium to visit the Halloween serial killer, Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney). Aaron brings out the original mask Michael wore during the killings in 1978. Michael does not respond.
The podcasters visit Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). She is now 57 years old and lives in a house on gated land with security cameras. She is agoraphobic and suffers post-traumatic stress from that night of October 31, 1978, when she was babysitting Tommy and Lindsay. Laurie is still terrified.
She knows Michael is about to be transferred to a different facility. On that night, Michael kills and escapes the bus.
Laurie is ready for Michael Myers and with a vengeance. She has prepared and has waited 40 years to kill him once and for all.

Also in the cast: Haluk Bilginer, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Toby Huss, Virginia Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, Drew Scheid, Jibrail Nantambu.

Filmed in Hanahan, Charleston, South Carolina.

Option of subtitles: English SDH, Spanish, French.

Bonus: Deleted Scenes/Extended Scenes. Back in Haddonfield: Making a Halloween. The Original Scream Queen. The Sound of Fear. Journey of the Mask. The Legacy of Halloween.

I always enjoy a new HALLOWEEN movie and was excited to learn Jamie Lee Curtis was returning. However, this movie was just so-so. The minor actors whose characters were victims in this story were of no interest to me.
Haluk Bilginer as Dr. Sartain (I r satan) peaked my interest and I only liked the scenes with Jamie Lee Curtis. The last 31 minutes of this film is exciting.

    Halloween (1978).

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995).
    Halloween H2O: 20 Years Later (1998).

    Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007).
    Rob Zombie's H2: Halloween II (2009).

    Love it!

    5 stars

In addition to reviewing the first (original) Halloween movie I thought I’d travel on over here and grant another 5 stars to this Blu-ray. I watched Halloween 1&2 profusely as a child when my Mom was an avid VCR recorder and now, seeing it in such superb quality is wonderful and a great bringer of nostalgic feelings.

The price is cheap for such good quality. Plus seeing the extra deleted scenes that I hadn’t ever seen before were a plus!

    Love it!

I got it just in time for Halloween this year, this is a great addition to the set. i love the steel book art.

Fantastic Bluray addition. Fantastic Bluray addition.

A fantastic follow up to John Carpenter's original film. Donald P. & Jamie Lee are in top form as is Michael Myers who moves & behaves even creepier & non human than he did in Halloween. I give Halloween2 5 stars. One of my all time fav horror films.

More of the night HE came home.

    Worth it

    ???????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????

I liked the steelbook, but the theatrical bluray disc art is blurry and they spelled “television” wrong on the DVD.
