So I ordered a 2XL Tall in black because I ordered a 2XLTall in charcoal last month and it fit as expected. I tried on the sizes at a local store then just bought the tall version here.
This is a good product and I've always liked these, however these do shed fluff right out of the box so be careful if you wear it over another shirt initially, it will most likely coat that shirt with fluff. Which isn't the end of the world, but when you're at work and you wore a light blue button up, taking off the flees only to find fluff ALL over you end up stuck wearing this all day.. Which can get hot.. Which is irritating. But whatever a couple of washes ad it should be good.
Back to the sizing issue. I found that the black was made in Haiti and the charcoal in Sri Lanka. There may be a communication issue between manufacturing locations that caused the disparity. The charcoal fit as expected, however the black was small. I placed them both next to each other to compare. It looks like the length of the arms and height of the fleece are very comparable between the two, however the width is noticeably different. I would say the black was a XL Tall not a 2XL Tall.
Initially I thought about returning it but the 2XL is slightly large on me and the XL is slightly small. A little needed weight loss and the XL will work.
Unfortunately due to the sizing issues or mislabeling, purchasing these may take a certain amount of trial and error.
ME: Why are you wearing those yoga pants when you're not doing yoga in a yoga studio? What if I I wore a karate gi, everywhere, and I don't even do karate?
CASSIDY: You wear that Steens Mountain fleece, and you've never climbed Steens Mountain.
JOE: She's got a point, Nash.
Light to mid weight. Generous drop in inside pockets behind handwarmers. Cinch cord with toggles at hemline to seal out cold. 1X Big = XL. Elastic wrist. Reverse coil YKK Japanese slide fastener. No chest level or sleeve pockets. Comfortable in 65 degree Fahrenheit, with less than 5 MPH wind. Will work well as a midweight layer over a shirt, and under a jacket. Not waterproof or windproof. Will add significant bulk to layering system.
I love these fleeces (order almost every year). I ordered a black one, it is NOT black, more of a faded black or dark gray color. I took a photo of my old black one and new one side by side, you can see a huge difference in color. Quite disappointed with this purchase.
Collegiate Navy- I bought the LT version in this color. I own other Columbia fleece jackets and overall enjoy them. For the price (~$20) they are a pretty good value. However, I found this particular color to be misleading. In the stock photos it looks much lighter than it is in reality. In reality it a much deeper, darker blue. It still is a nice enough color, but certainly isn't what I was expecting. Be aware if you pick this color. I've included a more accurate stock photo that comes from a different retailer that more accurately shows the color that Amazon's does.
I own a few Columbia jackets so I was disappointed when I purchased this jacket for a vacation to New Zealand to find out on the flight over that there was a 2 inch hole in the seam near the right hand pocket. It looks like the person stitching the jacket hadn't joined the two edges together when they stitched them together and left a gap. What surprises me the most is that it got through quality control without anyone noticing the hole.
Updated 3/4/19:
I've purchased this product twice. The first purchase gave me a solid jacket that fit well, looked good, and kept me warm.
The second, on the other hand, did not turn out so well. Within a week, the lining at the bottom that holds the drawstring cord became completely undone (See photos). I am definitely not impressed.
I'm 6'3 and mostly legs and arms. Thankfully the arms fit correctly and the body of the jacket is reasonably tailored for a person who is not carrying a ton of extra weight. It is a bit long on me, but such is life.
The problems?
It's a bit thin. I'd consider this a lightweight fleece. I did not intend to buy a lightweight fleece.
THE FUZZ. You absolutely cannot wear this as it arrives. I expect the problem to be resolved with a wash or two, but c'mon Columbia. Seriously? I wore it to the office with a light blue shirt. The shirt is light blue. ALL that darker material is a complete covering of fuzz. I'm not talking about just the large fuzz in the photo. The shirt is COVERED with fuzz. I've had many fleeces, some from no-brand companies and I've never seen anything like this. At the absolute very least it should include a warning, but really columbia should take care of this before selling it to me imho.
Really nice fleece jacket size was great and quality was great but ordered the shark/voltage which shows a dark color almost black and what I got is a very light grey which I will not wear so will be returning it unfortunately
Material is great but after the 1st Wash stitching came loose and had to be resown
Comfortable, looks good. Fits as expected. However after wearing only 1 time it has already has a seam coming apart on the sleeve. Disappointing.
I love this vest. It's super warm and cozy and fits me perfectly. I have it in 4 colors! I am 5'10, 138lbs with a long torso.. although the xsm fits me better width-wise, it as of short. The small is perfect for layering. As you can see in my picture there is plenty of room for a bulkier jacket underneath.. but I usually find it warm enough (in CA) with just a long shirt!
Love. Perfect. Lightweight but warm and perfect for being cozy but not looking bulky.
I have two Benton zip jackets and two mighty light down jackets all in size small but they have a little exta room and I really didn't want this looking too loose so I ordered XS and it's perfect and I still have plenty of armpit room. For reference I'm 5'5" 125lbs
This is a light weight fleece vest. Not lined. kind of boxy. I am 5'2", 120 pounds, and a 34D. I usually order a small. I expected this vest to be a bit tailored based on the photo. Its not. Very loosed fitting all around the waist and long under the arm pits. Its fine, but not that flattering. The fit is a bit big. I should have ordered an XS.
For reference: I'm 5'3" and about 125 pounds. I ordered a small. I purchased it for $19.99.
I'm a bit bummed out about the color. I ordered black and the color is more like a dark grey (see the picture--the leggings are black for comparison). My first thought was that they sent the wrong color, but I saw the same issue in other reviews.
Other than that, the vest is fine. I checked all of the seams and they look okay. The zippers all work. It's warm and soft. It fits like a Columbia; I have a medium Columbia fleece jacket and it's a bit more snug than that; I have another Columbia jacket in small, and it fits similar to that one. It's snug enough that there isn't a bunch of loose fabric and it will layer under a jacket nicely, but it's loose enough that you can wear a shirt or two under it and not have it be too tight.
The color is a little off, but it's Columbia quality for less than half the price (the price on the tag is $45), so I'm not complaining too much!
I bought this vest in medium when I was about 170lbs at 5 feet 6 inches tall. It fit great even over my big hips. I wore it a lot because it’s just the right layer for Texas winters is a chilly house. It wasn’t as soft as I thought it would be. It’s sort of a fleece material which I wasn’t in love with. I wanted a super soft vest but it still did the job!
Unfortunately I had a baby and gained 25lbs and it doesn’t fit me now. My chest is a 38G so that plus the hips are the issue. But in general I do think Columbia runs a bit large.
I ordered an extra small in black. The size runs large. I'm 5'4" and 110 pounds. The extra small is too big. I tried on this same vest in a local store, and it fit more snug. Also, the color is not black. It looks more like the heather grey. I suspect that this is a fake, but I'm not sure. I only paid $21 for this item. You get what you pay for.
Ordered the black vest, but what I received was a dark charcoal looking color. In the photo my pants are black. So you can see the difference.
Cute, warm. I’m 5ft, 110lb and got an xs. Arm holes are a little small, but overall fits nice. Not too fitting.
The order has been received for two days. Great! Clothes like it! You will continue to order! Introduce me to my friend
Unless you plan to wear only white underneath, you’ll need to get over the fact that you can see thru everywhere except where the material is doubled at the pockets. Reminds me of when you could see Cousin Eddies dark colored dickie thru his white shirt. I also got this in black and that one was nice. The white, not so much!
Just got this in the mail, and I'm so glad I went with the small instead of the medium. It fits very well over a thick sweater... it isn't a coat, so I really don't foresee wanting to layer more than that. If you're planning on wearing a hoodie or several layers, size up. I'm 5’4”, 135lbs, 34B, and wear a 4/6. The small is great with plenty of room to move. The red hibiscus is gorgeous... a nice, bright, faintly pink/coral tinged red. The hood and waist are easily adjusted with the elastic cords. Just got it, so I haven't had a chance to test the waterproofing. Pics included... sorry for the bathroom selfies. :)
Update: Have worn this in several soaking rains... kept me dry! It's been washed a ton, and still looks as good as new two years later. Make sure to zip it when you wash because the velcro will stick to the liner!
I browsed through the reviews to decide what size jacket to get, then I found a reviewer with the same height and similar weight like me posted a photo of themselves in a medium. So I got myself a medium in black.
I'm 5'2", 102lbs, and 34B. I bought a medium to go along with the pair of Colombia's Storm Surge rain pants (x-small) for when the rain comes in Southern California. I enjoy how roomy and light it is, and I can wear several layers underneath when the weather demands it. When it rains, the water rolls straight off of it and keeps me dry.
The sleeves have adjustable Velcro cuffs, and it goes pass just the tip of my fingers. The mesh-lined jacket itself almost covers my entire butt, but my rain pants can take care of the rest. The storm hood and waist can be easily adjusted with the elastic cords found there. I often wear a cap whenever I go out, and the hood covers it except for the very edge of the bill/visor, so I often find it damp/wet, but not a big deal. The main front zipper has a flap that can be secured with Velcro to keep the water out. The two pockets has flaps and zippers as well, and the insides are mesh-lined and are big enough to fit an entire 16.9 fl oz water bottle, or my iPhone 6 Plus with its Otter Box Defender case on with some room to spare.
I highly recommend it for any kind of rain except for really heavy rain like a monsoon.
Pics included, and sorry for the blurred out face and bathroom...
This jacket is a great value. I bought it specifically for Iceland as an outer shell and it surpassed my expectations. It was both wind and waterproof. The wind proof came in handy as there were 30 mph winds with gusts up to 70 mph. I brought 3 rain jackets with me and this one was my favorite since it's wind and water proof she dried very quickly. The red is also a flattering and bright color.
For reference I am 5'3 145 pounds and used a small. In my attached images I was able to wear a fleece jacket underneath for warmth.
At first I bought a large (I am 5" 6', 165 lbs). I usually wear between a medium and a large, and I saw some reviews recommending to order a size up. I received the large very quickly, but it was way too big, so I returned it and purchased a medium. The medium came within just a few days of ordering! It fits perfectly, and does the job--a perfect windbreaker and rain jacket! I love Columbia--great quality and great service!
I bought this jacket because I was traveling internationally from a cold climate to a hot climate and needed a lightweight jacket that would provide good coverage. It absolutely needed to be lightweight because it needed to fit into my carry-on backpack and be easy to carry around in the country with me when I needed it. That jacket was exactly that. The jacket is very lightweight and also folds into one of the pockets. After your unfold it from the pocket, it will be wrinkled. It was just stuffed into a small space after all. But before long most of the wrinkles come right back out and the jacket looks fine again. The jacket being able to fold into the pocket is also very handy for transporting it in bag or backpack.
Also the sleeves have velcro straps that make the end of the sleeves adjustable if you have smaller wrist or just want tighter coverage on your wrist. The sleeves were long enough for me which is always a plus. I am 5'7 and have longer arms so sometimes that can be a hassle.
The pockets are pretty large and have zipper which was great for me in the airport during the time when I always needed to have my passport out but didn't always want to have it in my hands. Travelers, y'all know what I'm talking about .
My only complaint is that the hood was a bit small to me. I wish it had a few more inches of coverage for my head but it's definitely manageable. I didn't really use it too much except on the plane when I wanted to sleep anyway and honestly it was good enough for that.
When I returned back to my colder climate, it was raining and the jacket was great for that too! It was fine for the light rain we had here. I stayed dry and thats usually the goal. I'm not sure how it will do in heavier rain, but honestly, if you need a raincoat, buy a raincoat right?
Overall, I would definitely recommend the jacket.
I bought this jacket from a sporting goods store about a month ago. I went back to purchase another for my daughter but they were sold out. Being that I do most of my shopping on Amazon, I found it here. I figured something was going to be different based on the price. It does not fit the same at all. I purchased a Small. My store purchased jacket measures 26 inches. This jacket measures 25. It is not as contoured to the waist either. I find it a bit more bulky. The inside mesh is different. It is much louder/crunchier sounding. I have only worn the other rain jacket a few times. That is not enough times to reduce the noisy crunch. The tags are different. The model number is RL2436, which is listed on both jackets but this jacket has additional numbers added to it.
The top 2 pictures are of my store purchased Columbia. The bottom 2 pictures are of my Amazon Columbia.
I bought this for my second trip to Scotland. On my first trip I knew it would be wet, but I needed to pack light so I bought a paper thin light weight "water resistant" jacket. What I didn't know is there is a big difference between water proof and water resistant. This time around I was much smarter. I still needed to pack light, but I needed a real waterproof jacket that could also serve as a jacket to keep my warm in the 50 degree summers of the Scottish highlands. This was perfect! I am 5'5" and 140 pounds and I bought a small. It fits perfect and it's also cute in my opinion. It kept me dry and warm when hiking to the cold windy mountain peaks and it kept me dry during downpours at Disney world without suffocating me in the 90 degree weather. If you are looking for an affordable, lightweight, summer rain jacket that is waterproof and somewhat fashionable, this is a great pick! It's also packable into it's own pocket and takes up no room in your luggage!
I ordered this jacket in Bluebell Extra Small and Black Small. I really wanted the Bluebell color, but it was only available in XS. I decided to take a chance and order it. I had tried the Small on in stores and knew it fit, but it did have room to spare. I am 5'0" and I'd say my weight fluctuates from 115-118. Received both jackets timely, and to my surprise the XS fits rather well! It does not feel tight. When zipping it, I do need to pull the jacket over my butt (my hips kept me from pulling the zipper together from full length). It may fit slightly snugger around my hips/rear but overall not bad, and in the XS it is more form fitting/flattering. I notice the arms length is a lot better for me, and the jacket length goes to about the middle of my butt. I still had room to have a fully zipped fleece jacket underneath, so still room to layer. The small has plenty of room but is slightly baggy on me. The arms were longer, and the jacket length fully covered my butt. If you needed the jacket for a cold climate requiring a lot of layers than the small may be the better choice.
In the end I am keeping the XS because I love the Bluebell color! I think this must be a discontinued color which is unfortunate. I don't wear many bright colors so the more neutral tone of the Bluebell is just the right amount of color for me (the color is pretty true to the advertised image). I've seen the Harbour Blue in stores, and it's a nice shade but a lot brighter in comparison. Anyway, due to the color I fell in love with this jacket! I have worn the jacket out in the rain and it performed well. Haven't had a chance to be out in the rain for really long periods of time with the jacket though, but pretty certain it will keep me dry. My only concern will be if this jackets get too hot since it is lined (another point for the Bluebell color in this regard as Black would absorb more heat). I live in an area which experiences all 4 seasons, so in the summer days in the 80s and 90s this jacket could get too hot. I will try to update with my experience. However, I have compared the Arcadia II to the Switchback and just find the Arcadia feels like more of a jacket. The Switchback is very lightweight and more of just a shell. I feel like the Arcadia II is a better deal for the money, but it really depends on your needs. Also the Arcadia II has strings to pull to tighten the hood that are very easy to locate and use. I love that they are easily accessible which was another reason this jacket was my pick over some competitors. Overall if you are looking for a good rain jacket, you can't go wrong with any of Columbia's options!
For the record: I don't love this jacket, my wife does. I love my wife and she looks great in this jacket. We were a little confused by the mixed reviews on sizing. Many reviewers were posting remarks about the importance of ordering a size up to allow room for a sweater or something similar. Yet there were other reviewers saying the exact opposite. My wife is normally in-between small and medium when buying shirts and jackets (yes it's extremely frustrating buying clothes for her) so we figured we should go with a medium since most reviewers were saying to go a size up. We ended up going to a store that carried these locally to try on the fit. Buying locally at the store would have been WAY more expensive! But it was useful to get the sizing just right. My wife said the medium felt like she was wearing a bag and she'd be swimming in it. Don't know exactly what that means except that it was too large for her taste and not form fitting. She tried the small and it fit just right. Our recommendation is to get ahold of a jacket locally even if it's not the exact model or color you're considering but a Columbia brand rainproof jacket and try a few on to ensure you get the right fit for you to avoid the hassle of returning the product for a different size. I realize that this isn't possible for everyone but amidst the confusion and various opinions on the matter it's what we recommend. If that isn't possible then decide what size based on your body shape and what you hope to use this jacket for. If you'll need it as an outer layer with multiple other layers underneath for warmth then go a size up. If you're going to use it just to stay dry with a small sweatshirt or t shirt with a fleece jacket underneath then ordering your normal size will be just fine and offer mobility.
As for it's use, the jacket did it's job holding up to downpour rainstorms in Hilo Hawaii yet remaining comfortable and relatively breathable while having a very attractive appearance. We took it on several hikes and it kept her dry through several bouts of rain. She highly enjoyed and recommends this jacket as a lightweight and very rainproof jacket that has some style and isn't "a bag to go swimming in."
Love love love this jacket. Bought it just prior to a trip and as expected, it rained A LOT where I was. This jacket was not too hot - no sweating while wearing it... and I stayed totally dry inside it. Love the adjustable cuffs, hood, hemline, and the way the zipper is covered. My camera was easy to pull in and out of the pocket - and it stayed dry while in the pocket while safe & secure in the depth of the pocket.. Oh yes, one more thing... the "visor" kept my glasses relatively dry too!
I have two of these hats and both of them were pretty much ruined the first time I sweat in them. Attempted to wash both but had no luck whatsoever. If you plan on doing any activities in hot weather and have sweat glands I would avoid these hats. I have purchased a lot of Columbia apparel and love everything I've ever bought but not these hats. Gave the product 2 stars since these hats would great if you dont have sweat glands, don't ever do anything strenuous or lived in a cold climate.
Nice hat. I am just on the edge between medium and large at 7 and 1/8. After sweating in the hat, the material decided to change colors. I now have a sweat/watercolor pattern of light green on the front. Wish I would have known this flaw before the return cut off date.
It's a hat I'd like to give less stars but just can't. Fits perfect, looks cool. I have a large 7 3/4 noggin and that is the hats max size. I use this hat fishing and it's only been a few months and it now looks like a burnt rust camo hat. I think it looks cool but this hat WILL NOT hold up to the elements and if keeping a hat black is important to you. Living in Florida, it's always warm. Otherwise it's my favorite hat.
My favorite hat... ever. I get compliments on it constantly. Only thing I don't like is that it stains really easy. After my first weekend fishing trip I had sweat staining on the front and the bill. And it's really noticeable. I'm an outdoors guy and I bought this hat to hike and go fishing and stuff in, so I don't care that it looks a little raggety. But some folks will, so there you go.
This is a great fitting hat. I wear a 7 to 7 1/8 and the small/medium fits just right. Only one issue, after sweating in the hat it had a discolored brown tinge. When I tried to get the sweat out by only using cold water it lost all of its beautiful color. But it's still my favorite hat. Please work on that Columbia Sportswear Company.
It was nice hat. After sweating in the hat, the material change colors.
Colors fade too quickly. The color (dark blue) started to fade after about a month.
I’m disappointed ;(
We order the new one hat(bright grey) and I hope that the quality will please
He loved it! I might have to buy another one. He wears it almost everyday! Perfect hit. He loves the design. Success!
After only a couple months, the elastic band is separating from the hat. Very disappointed
First time I’ve written a review because generally I’m pleased with my purchases. Hat is nice and fits great but if you sweat in this hat, the die will migrate. I’ve tried washing it but it’s permenantly altered. Never had a hat do this before.
Sweat line that won’t go away- even after hand washing. I really like these PFG hats but they aren’t very durable.
Had this jacket for about a month now and all I can say is it's awesome! Perfect for rain and a pretty damn good wind breaker as well. I can't say it's completely waterproof because I haven't been in a monsoon rainstorm but it's kept me dry for every other rain storm. Also it packs up so if you don't need it right now but maybe later for like a camping trip or something you can pull it out and put it on.
Instructions: the left pocket has a label inside that says "packable" turn that guy inside out and stuff the rest of the jacket on in there.
About the size of a normal picture 6"x4" and the width of maybe 3-4" probably depends on how well you stuff it in there. Hope this helps!
I am very impressed with the quality of this jacket, it looks very elegant and I've gotten compliments on it already. Definitely will be buying more in the future!
The jacket zipper appears to be very poorly made. The first time I zipped up the zipper the teeth completely ripped off the jacket and became completely unraveled, something I've never experienced before in any piece of clothing, regardless of the price. The jacket might be worth $10 or so, but definitely not the $40 it costs.
The (large) jacket fits perfectly. I am almost completely satisfied with the jacket. I say "almost" because this jacket was not exactly what I expected based on the online description. I was misled by one reviewer who stated that the jacket was "warm". There is no lining in this jacket as implied by the "warm" description. The online illustrations of this jacket (and all jackets and coats) should present the potential buyer with a view of the interior and not not just the exterior style. But I can still make use of this jacket. The 5-star rating refers only to the quality of the jacket.
Bought this for my husband for a trip to Seattle in October. Bought him an XL which is what he usually wears in shirts and it fit him great. He's a big guy, 6'2 and 250lbs, but it worked well as a light rain jacket and he liked it because it didn't make him too hot. He even wears it sometimes in the Florida rainy weather, depending on how hot it is outside it works great as a light top layer, especially if you don't want to carry around an umbrella. It really is a great lightweight jacket, great quality, would buy again.
For the price, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better rain jacket. A very light weight and packable shell that actually keeps you dry. I had the chance to test it today while walking the dog. A light drizzle turn into a downpour and I was bone dry when I got home. The fine mesh liner does a great job of keeping the outer layer from making contact with your body, which really helps with ventilation. As far as fit, I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 197 pounds and a large fits me perfectly. This is a great piece of kit for the money and I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a quality, light weight shell.
Order one size below your normal fit size. I am 150lbs, 6'0", with a 38-40 chest, so normally a medium would be great - I ordered the small based on all the reviews here and it fits perfectly! I love this jacket because of the neutral gray color, the fact that it does not make you sweat profusely like normal rain jackets do, and literally whatever is covered up by this jacket WILL NOT GET WET. Columbia has nailed it with this rain jacket imho. If you want to stay dry and cool, buy it. If you want to sweat profusely and be rained on with your current jacket, well, that's just not smart.
The color is very nice, and the XL is roomy enough to fit over a sweater or sweatshirt (I'm a 5'11" 200 pound female,). If I didn't plan to wear it in cooler weather, I would have ordered a Large, and it would have been plenty big for me. The overall length covered everything that needs covering. No water got in the jacket, and I never felt too warm -- it seems to "breath" while keeping out both wind and rain. It has an embroidered chest logo, and a mesh liner! The pockets are a generous size and they zip shut. The hood was really handy. I often order men's jackets for the longer arm length, and this jacket didn't disappoint. A few reviews mentioned the jacket being noisy, but that hasn't been my experience.I am thrilled with this well-made, stylish jacket!
The inside of the sleeve got unstitched after one day of use (see picture). Is there no pride anymore in doing a lasting quality product? (See picture). The zippers are poorly designed so they always bite the cloth. I spend half my day getting them unstuck. The cloth itself is very water repellent, what a pitty.
This was purchased as a commuting jacket as well as for a trip we took. I didn’t want anything too bulky and this fit in my carry-on perfectly. It feels waterproof and the times I have used it, I’ve been very dry inside. I like the shape/cut of the hood and cuffs are the right length for my arms (large tall).
I have two of these hats and both of them were pretty much ruined the first time I sweat in them. Attempted to wash both but had no luck whatsoever. My boyfriend loves this pullover! It's soft, warm, and stylish.
This was an especially nice snag as a Lightning Deal - it was sized as expected, warm and comfy. I ordered the Tusk, and the only surprise is that while it looked like a light creamy beige on my screen - I feel that it actually is a shade darker than that, and has a more french gray feel to it. I think it mostly just speaks to the difficulty of getting accurate color representations on different computers. The picture I uploaded looks the same as the one on the model, and looks a shade lighter than it does in real life.
I bought this in "new cinder/shark" in a size small. It is a Christmas gift for my 14 year old nephew. I got it at a steal for $13!! I wasn't super excited about the colors (but at $13 I was willing to deal with it), but it's looks much nicer in person! The fleece is thick and cozy and the shirt is a nice quality. It does not have pockets, which is why I only gave it 4 stars :(.
I am a woman and I tried this on, myself. I am 5"3, 135# 36 " bust, 28" waist38" hips. The small actually fit me pretty perfectly, aside from being too long. Not sure if this will help any dudes out there or not, ha:)
The fleece collar is fraying/pilling after one wash ! Just a simple wash and no tumble dry. This is pathetic.
The picture is completely different that the product I received. If you look on Columbia's website it clearly shows the Kamath Range II 1/2 zip is a two-toned jacket with a different colored zipper. I ordered this in solid navy and received a navy body with a bright blue collar and side panels with a red zipper! And there's nothing they can do apparently to get the correct product to me. Very dissatisfied!!!
With people saying the sizes are inconsistent I was a little apprehensive about buying these boots.. I was surprised. I work in construction so I need a boot that has a tough sole and Can hold up with in dirt or water. These are the best of boat worlds. Comfort and stability. I was working on a downpour one day for ten hours and my toes stayed dry all day. The laces are long which is good to wrap around the ankle. Very good boot.
One month update:
These boots are water proof still, and dry out quickly in the rain. The hold up really well and the soles are tough. They are well supportive of my feet and even though one of the shoe laces broke, I am quite happy. I would buy them again.
I bought these boots mainly for day hikes. They've seen high desert, mountain and muddy terrains.
Pros: The Elk and Mountain red color combo are great looking! (Subjective). Got them in my regular size (9) and they fit nicely with cotton socks. They are light and comfortable after the break-in period. Boots are waterproof enough for shallow creeks and muddy puddles along trails.
Cons: Three months and less than 15 miles on these, one of the top lace hook rivets completely fell off. This prevents me from lacing the boots in a heel lock.
I was expecting to get more mileage out of these boots. For the price, they are not bad. Everything else is still in place and holding up aside from the rivet.
This is my second boots from Columbia and I love it!
Very good quality of materials. I'm expecting for frosty winter to check out how they work in such conditions.
I wanted to be clear you can stuff this jacket into it's pocket, as someone answered that incorrectly.
Couldn't find many petite reviews so here's mine:
The XS fits great! I'm 5'1 100lbs. I like boxy fits (especially for jackets since I layer a lot) so I was worried thinking I should get a S but the XS is still very roomy! The jacket length is perfect- doesn't past the hip too much. The sleeve length is long but that's fine. It's not a hard fix to scrunch it up or fold it.
I got the lilac color and my sister got the teal color, and they were pretty close to the color in the display image. It looks like these colors are not available anymore, according to the current listings. I got my rain jacket over a year ago and it is still in great shape. This is a thin rain jacket - the fabric is a little transparent and it definitely is not a jacket you would wear for warmth - I will often pair it with a fleece underneath. This works well for keeping out rain and wind. The pockets and stowaway hood all work well. Pockets are not lined. Sleeves are long - see pictures - but I like them that way! You can tuck your hands in to stay dry.I bought it for trips to India and Bolivia in their rainy seasons and it held up admirably! If you are in soaking conditions for a long time (hours) then water can get through this jacket. Most rain jackets are not 100% waterproof because they also need breathability - this one is listed as water resistant, which is accurate. Good purchase and I would highly recommend this jacket!
I bought this to wear on a trip to Ireland. We haven't left yet but I have worn it around town on several rainy days. Of course as soon as I stepped outside it stopped raining so I can't speak to its ability to keep the rain out. I got the Miami blue color and I am really happy with it. It looks pretty with my skin and eyes and goes great with a pair of jeans. It is fairly true to size in my opinion. I am 5'9, 140 lbs and a size medium fit great. Not super fitted but still slimming while leaving enough room to wear a layer or two underneath. It's not very breathable which is great for keeping out moisture and keeping in heat which is perfect for a cool day but not so good to wear on a warm day. I think I would get kind of sweaty in it. If I could change soemthing about it I would get a liner or have another way of venting to get a little air flow. The fabric feels durable, is comfortable and the sound of the material isn't so plastic sounding as some rain jackets I have tried on. It has a nice high neck for keeping out rain and a hood that folds up comfortably in the collar.
I love love loveeeeee this rain jacket. I have been in Norway for a week in 50-60 degree rainy weather, and this rain jacket has managed to keep me dry, and reasonably warm, through it all. I even ran outside in a thunderstorm in this jacket, came inside, completely dry underneath. There's really no reason not to buy it.
great jacket - I got it today and i am very happy with it as it is light, has nice color to it, has 2 packets, hood, they have mesh near hood on inside side. Material is little like in umbrella, and you might get little hot in it if you wear it when it is hot. I am 165 lbs and 5'8 and size L fit perfect. Glad that I didnt get size XL as it would be too big.I recommend that jacket. Price is good too.
I'm 5'6" weight at 155lbs. I was headed to an alaskan cruise and needed something to keep me dry. I wear a size medium but after reading the reviews I decided to go up a size since I was layering! That was a good decision. I wore a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, and 2 sweaters underneath and then this jacket and the size up (large) fit comfortably. It was water proof for the most part but I was never in constant rainfall. The jacket kept the rain and sprinkling off but once it did seep through my jacket and got my outside sweater a little wet but I was still dry under all those layers. I give 4 stars because it let a little rain in and I got a very small tear on the sleeve after just 3 days from hiking. I still love it and would recommend it
Love it! I'm 5'9", pear shaped, 150lb, (US size 4/6 shirt, size 10/11 pants). I ordered a medium in black, and it fits perfectly. A small might have fit, too, but I chose a medium so I could layer underneath. The sleeve length is spot on for my height -- it actually covers my wrists!
Update: I wore it on an airboat ride in New Orleans on a warmer November day. It kept the wind out perfectly, was comfortable, and the Velcro on the wrists kept air out of the sleeves even with all the wind. I'll update my review again when I use it on a rainy day in Florida.
Update 2: I've now had this for more than a year and still love it. I've had to walk about a half mile in a Florida downpour, and it kept my hair and upper body totally dry. Great rain jacket! I just bought another one in a different color so I can keep one at work and one at home.
I love this jacket! I got it in the color Purple Lotus. I'm 5'3", 124 lbs. I have a 34" bust, 28.5" waist, and 36" hips. I got the medium and it fits well. In my pictures, I'm wearing the Columbia Benton Springs Fleece underneath. It still fits well. It's definitely not for warmth, but it will keep you dry. I may buy another in the color Lychee. Glad I got it.
I wore this on a trip to Banff National Park in Canada. I am 5'9" about 130lb and the medium was perfect. My only complaint is that the jacket does not breathe. It was not that cold out (about 60F), and i was sweating in this thing. I had to take it off because it was getting uncomfortable. Maybe if i were wearing a long sleeve under it, it would not be so bad.
I do not recommend this for when you are going to be exerting yourself, since you will sweat up a storm. Its like wearing a plastic bag.
Otherwise, cute coat.
I am 6'0" and 165 lb with 33 size waist and bought two Red colors in M and one Super Blue in L size to compare and chooe one. There is a bigger than expected size difference between the M and L sizes. I usually opt for the large in many jackets and tops I buy because I have very broad shoulders but lean body, but in this case the Large was bulky. It is very wide cut especially around the waist. It depends on how you want it to fit; Just as a rain jacket, the large is fine with room for a sweater or sweatshirt when it's cold I would choose the large for hiking. The Medium fit just right, looks good even for a casual wear with not much room for a bulky sweater but can wear a sweatshirt or long sleeve T-shirt under it for warmth. Mind you, all pictures were taken while wearing a t-shirt only. Also there is definitely a slight but noticeable cut difference BETWEEN THE TWO MEDIUM sizes I purchased caused probably by period of production and slight design changes that accompanied it. For starters the Rocket Red fit me more nicely with a slightly more room around the shoulders and wider overall cut and the mesh was softer and more fine. overall more comfortable to wear. The Mountain Red was a little snug around the shoulders and sides and the mesh is definitely coarser on my arms which is fine, but since I have broad shoulders I chose the Rocket Red. The Mountain Red had a solid polyester fabric right below the collar where the Columbia tag is for durability, but the Rocket Red was soft mesh all the way to the edge of the collar. Also the mesh interior is more fine and softer on the Rocket Red than the Mountain Red. Also the Blue one has fine soft mesh also and missing the collar solid polyester fabric. I would bet the Rocket Red is a discontinued product since it's not offered on Columbia.com as well as many of the colors offered here on Amazon. So I can assume the colors here that are not offered on Columbia's website are probably discontinued and will have a softer mesh and fit a little bit more loose or classic fit. I guess Columbia upgraded it to make it more durable around the neck area and fit more modern a little bit. I would also like to add about one other review that said quality defect in one pocket being sewn all the way to the hem but not the other pocket(Left pocket), IT IS NOT A QUALITY ISSUE, that pocket is where you pack the jacket. it has a two sided zipper, so you can turn the pocket inside out and pack the whole jacket inside, so it's intentionally sewn that way. All the three jackets I got where sewn like that. It will have a patch near the zipper pocket that says PACKABLE. Overall really nice quality jacket as to be expected from Columbia, and a steal on these prices, in stores it usually is twice.
Ordered the 3X, but it turned out too big for me; returned it and waiting on 2X.
However, I called Columbia Customer Service (great service btw), and they gave me the exact measures for the jacket, as the size charts on Amazon and on the Columbia website itself are generic. Here's the info they gave me, hopefully it'll help others (see picture).
Size - Chest - Waist - Sleeve Length - Center Back Length
XXL - 60.0" - 57.0" - 39.5" - 31.0"
1X Big - 57.0" - 55.0" - 37.0" - 30.0"
2X Big - 61.0" - 59.0" - 38.0" - 31.0"
3X Big - 65.0" - 63.0" - 38.75" - 31.0"
Cheers!

First, this is a sharp color. It's sort of a camo green with a hint of gray. Exactly the color I wanted. Also the inside color is kind of subdued. Not obnoxious at all. I got a chance to test this jacket in a light rain. The water beaded off like it was glass. After 10 minutes I went inside to look for moisture on the inside of the jacket. None. If you have a wet sensation while wearing it, it is only the cold water next to your skin. It has a layer of mesh lining the inside. I would imagine they put it there so the waterproof part doesn't stick to your skin if you sweat at all. It has a waterproof guarantee too.
I love this windbreaker, it looks great and feels good but speaking the truth, it won’t protect you from anything more than light rain. I believe this is perfect for summer hike on cloudy day... just in case.
Love this jacket, its great for layering!!! My son is 5 (6 in oct), and he's wearing the xs!
Columbia quality. Lightweight rain jacket. We bought to go under our 6 year old sons jersey for baseball to hopefully keep him dry in the Seattle spring weather. Wasn't sure about sizing when I ordered which is why I'm writing this. Ordered "Big Boys - Small". Our 6yo is about 48" & 47 lb wears size 6. Jacket is loose but will fit for another season (which I'm totally okay with). Happy with the purchase.
Very nice, well made, bright green rain jacket! Fits as expected, keeps my son dry, he says it is comfortable. Very happy with this rain coat.
Perfect! Needed light weight jacket for trip to Europe where it rains off and on all day long. This was great for keeping in backpack.
My son loves it.
Jacket arrived with a hole straight through it. So disappointed. Material was thinner than expected, as well.
Fits well but I wish it were a bit thicker. Nice lightweight jacket and easy to toss in the bag and go.
This rain jacket came used, not new. The first clue was that it smelled like perfume. The second clue was that a parent had written their child's name in it! And lastly, the zipper is broken. You've got to be kidding me.
Received dirty jacket that smells like poop...seriously disgusting!!!
The material is so thin, cheap material for the amount.
We tend to purchase a lot of Columbia jackets and fleeces and almost ALWAYS size up. In this case we purchased this fleece for my 5 month old son. He's a big kid 90% everything (head/weight/height). I purchased both the 6-12 and the 12-18 months and kept the 12-18th month. Though the 12-18 month is a bit big the size is easily manageable by rolling up the sleeves. Means I should be able to get this to last for at least another year (vs maybe a handful of months with the smaller size). We can also easily add a sweatshirt etc under the 12-18 month which we couldn't do with the 6-12m.
Waaaaay to small. Orderd a 18-24m, struggled to get my 12m's arm into the sleeve. Snug when zipped. Not fleece, thin and rough material.
See photo- Blue jacket is 12-18m - Red "COLUMBIA" jacket is 18-24m.
I saw reviews saying it ran small. My son is typically a size 8. An 8 in most things fit him absolutely perfectly. So, i took the "size up" advice and ordered a 10/12. This thing is huge! I have washed and dried this jacket and i dont think it shrank a bit. It is a bit thin but for my particular child, its great. Hes got a medical condition where he can have an anaphylactic reaction if he gets too hot. I really dont know abiut if its fake or not. It has YKK zippers and the rounded edges on the emblem before the name are there. I looked at a bunch of "how to spot a fake Columbia" articles and videos and the one i bought came up authentic every time. I feel like i got a great deal and hoped to get 2 winter seasons out of this and might actually end up getting 3. Might order myself one in a larger size! I can get his on but can barely zip it. Im 5ft 4 and 145lbs. Check out the pic of me wearing his jacket. Its WAY big for a 10/12!!
love this so cute! ! got one for my little man who is 11 months instead of wearing the bubble coats. he wears 12 months so I ordered this in 12-18 which fits him well. the blue color is beautiful! ! I understand where people are saying the arms are a little tight but after the first few wears they have loosened up and he has pretty chunky arms.
I purchased this jacket to solve the "no puffy coats allowed in car seats" issue. The fleece jacket allows the straps to fit snugly against my son and is warm enough to go from house to car in freezing PA temps. I have found size 12/18 month to fit true to size. If it's especially cold, I layer a smaller hooded sweatshirt underneath (12 month Carter's size). He is a tall 11 month old wearing 18 month pants in the photo and had room to grow in both pants and jacket. I expect it to fit him until the end of the spring when he is 16 months old.
I am super disappointed in this product and will be returning! It looks like I received a knock-off. The boy I nanny has this jacket and I love it so I ordered one for my son. What I received is NOT the same. It looks like cheap shiny Halloween costume fleece and it’s really thin. Not sure what happened but it’s not what i thought I was ordering.
Cute fall jacket! The 6-12 month size is a little big on our 3-1/2 month old but has room for him to grow into over the next couple months! Perfect for Fall in Chicago.
I would have given this jacket 5 stars however just a few days past the refund window threads are now coming undone and unraveling along the seams of the zipper along the sides. If the seller reads this and stands behind their product by offering to fully refund or exchange the item I will upgrade my review. Otherwise BEWARE, DO NOT BUY THIS COAT. IT DOES NOT LAST!!!
Super cute colors. I always reorder this coat when we need to size up. It's such a bang for your buck coat. It's so warm but also lightweight and thin enough for a five point car seat. I recommend this coat to everyone I can.
Purchased VERY last minute for a trip to San Francisco (totally forgot how cold it gets there during summer!). Ordered a size up as some previous reviews mentioned and thank goodness I did! My almost two year old wears 24m/2T clothes and I purchased a 3T jacket and it fits perfectly with the sleeve cuff rolled up once. I’ll probably have to buy another one for next winter in a bigger size, but for the price and the guaranteed two day prime shipping, it’s not a hassle. Saved this mama a trip to the store for a fleece in the middle of summer!
Beware! The one I got was an imitation. How do I know? I bought the real thing from the factory a month ago. That was an excellent quality jacket. Only it was too big. Got the second one off Amazon because they have good service and fast delivery.
By the time I got home, package had arrived, and wife or kid opened it and placed the jacket on the table. From few feet away, I though to myself what a cheap looking jacket. Upon inspection, realize it was the one I ordered. Thought maybe it was just my perception. Wore it to work next day. Big mistake. It was the annual meet the executive day for all the team leads. Took off the jacket, and all the fleece got stuck on my white shirt. It was like a scene from a comedy. Pretty sure it was not a good first impression. Picked out as much fleece as possible and went on. And nope, didn't get any promotion that day :( Note that the real fleece jacket from Columbia never shed even a single piece of ball of fuzz.
Came home and compared this with the real one I got from a month ago. Look at the pictures. Big difference in quality. Returned it that night. Amazon really need to crack down on these questionable supplier. They can loose a lot of credibility.
As far as the real jacket is concerned (not this one), it is truly an excellent product. If you live in California or any warmer climate, a heavy jacket is too much. All that is needed is a very light jacket to keep the chill out long enough for you to generate heat as you go hiking. Is great for work or indoor as well where some places they turn the A/C on high.
Terrible quality. Stitches are sticking out. Didn't expected from Columbia.
While the cut and stitching are good, the fabric is not really fleece, but rather a kind of felt: "A cloth or stuff made of matted fibers... fulled or wrought into a compact substance by rolling and pressure ... without spinning or weaving." The inside fibers are loose, not firmly attached: I can pinch them into a clump with my fingers. I attach photos comparing this coat with my 10 year old Columbia fleece. I wondered if this is one of the counterfeits people mentioned. This review describes the fabric, with a photo of the interior that looks like what I received: "The inner face of the fabric has a felt-like feel that’s very soft and the outside is a low-pile shaggy fleece (think Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man, but less shaggy). ... After a couple weeks of wear and two nights on the trail, the Steens Mountain is still in great shape, even with me: a notorious spiller and snagger." Perhaps it is actually o.k.?
I ordered 2 , one made in China and the other in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh looked better made and more warm and fluffy
Order one size SMALLER - these are not true to size
I am 5'11 , 184 lbs , always wear medium , ordered a small based on the reviews , and the small fits perfect .... trust me on this one
The one in the picture is the one made in Bangladesh not china
I reach up to where the chest pockets are suppose to be. Oops. No pockets. What happened?
The product description is for a Cascades Explorer jacket. The item that ships is a Steens Mountain jacket.
What is the difference? Those are 2 different products.
Amazon's "customer service" advised to just check the product description, they are very similar jackets. So that's it? Your warehouse ships the wrong product, and the customer is just stuck with your mistakes?
Product is made of generic polyester fleece. Polartec Fleece is graded by product weight, which will indicate thickness and warmth factor. Since this is not branded as Polartec, there is no rating. So for anyone interested in whether this product is 100g, 200g, or 300g; don't rack your mind or lose any sleep.
Brands like The North Face will use Polartec and give you a rating. The North Face Denali fleece jacket is what most people use as a bar to measure by. Polartec 300 fleece with a water and wind repellant overlay at the shoulders and forearms, zippered vents under the arms, and the option of a hooded model. This is the civilian version of what the military uses.
This Columbia item is by look and feel, a lot lighter in weight and thinner. The wind blows right through. In my area, where temperatures dip to 40 degrees Fahrenheit at night, with winds less than 5 miles per hour, all year long, this jacket did not keep me warm when worn over a t-shirt. At 40 degrees Fahrenheit, when you are indoors wearing just a t-shirt, you should be able to go outside with a good jacket. This is not a good jacket. After all, I am not in freezing conditions. Simply an overnight chill. A light chill, and this jacket did not keep me warm.
Fans of Columbia fleece products, and there are many as evidenced by the surging sales of their ever popular Steens Mountain fleece jacket, will argue that this is a great layer. I agree. I know how well this could work as a mid layer over a t-shirt, and under a top layer. But that does not make it a good jacket. A good jacket should keep you warm all by itself. And as I sit here indoors, where it is 72 room temperature, it feels great. But I am just as warm indoors, in a climate controlled room, with just a t shirt. When I step outside to go to the car, I will need to put a real jacket on over this. And if I have to stand out on the corner for 30 minutes to wait for a bus, wearing just this jacket, I will freeze. What good is a jacket that you have to wear another jacket over? So for a jacket to be good when you don't need a jacket at all; that just makes it a lousy jacket.
Was I supposed to get the Amazon OpsTechIT logo on this jacket? I don't mind, I'll just be wearing it around the house, but just be aware that the $30 jackets may come with logos you didn't expect.
Great fleece jacket, fits well and sleeves are just my size. I'm 6'0" and 174 lb slim built but broad shouldered and a Medium fits me great. Warm and comfortable fleece, light weight. Only issue is Amazon shipped the wrong color, I ordered black and I received dark Gray. Decided to keep it anyway because I liked the color. Quality jacket at a great price.
Note: This particular Steens Jacket is the 2.0 updated version even though I ordered the original old version. Seems Amazon sells both as same style. I don't believe they have much difference in style. But I got packets with zippers and draw string at the Hem. those might be the updates of the 2.0. I wasn't expecting zip pockets.
Great looking, lightweight, warm, and comfortable. What more can you ask from a fleece jacket? The color schemes are fashionable and many people will complement it. It has nice fleece lined belly pockets for when you forget your gloves. You’ll get exactly what you expect. The Fit is pretty much spot on, as you can see in the photo. I’m 6’ and 200 lbs, the large fits exactly right.
My first impressions of this jacket were that it was lacking the quality I would expect from a Columbia product. The fleece material used did not seem to be of high quality and craftsmanship appeared a bit dodgy. Additionally, I expected more of a navy blue than the color I ultimately received, which is a softer, more aqua blue (don't use the picture I attached to judge the color, it's not nearly as dark/navy as it appears in that photo). Nevertheless, I wore the jacket regularly for about a month and was happy with it. Until, after about a month of regular use, a large hole appeared in the left pocket. I don't do any sort of vigorous activity in the jacket and I don't carry anything in the pocket heavier than my cell phone, so there's really no reason for it to be falling apart. Now I have to be careful not to go to put my phone in that pocket out of habit or I run the risk of having it splatter all over the floor.
Nothing to complain about!
Size- ordered the size my fiancé always wears and it fit as expected
Quality- real Colombia. We have multiple Columbia jackets and it looked at felt just like the rest.
Shipping- arrived on time! 2 day shipping with prime
*6 month update!*
Jacket is still holding up great! With it being mid winter in Tennessee my fiancé usually wears it under his puffer jackets. It has been washed and dried multiple times and looks the same as when we purchased it
I really like these pants. I'm 5'5 and 140lbs with a curvy build, and I went with a size 8 in these. They are loose, and could size down to be more stylish, but sizing up one from my normal size 6 was super comfortable. They're very easy to move in. I bought these for a long trip out to Yosemite, Sequoia, and King's Canyon from the east coast, so these needed to be 1) easily packable and take up little space, 2) reasonably stylish, since they would be my only long pants 3) dry fast and function well for hikes in varied temperatures and very importantly 4) be comfortable for traveling and hiking. In short, these pants worked well on all accounts.
1) I bought two pairs - black and "Pulse," which is a grey with faintly purple undertones. They are thin, so they pack very easily and don't take up much space at all. They also release their wrinkles within a few minutes of wear, so you can ball them up pretty roughly and still have them look good later.
2) Like I mentioned, I sized up a little on these for ease of movement. I was a little worried these would look like I was wearing scrubs everywhere, but they're really not bad. Sizing up a little, you can't really see underwear lines, and the boot cut fit shows that you still have a figure, so they look good in an "outdoorsy" kind of way.
3) These dry very nicely. You can wash them in the sink at night and have them dry by morning. Also, my kids splashed water at my husband and I while I was wearing these pants, and my husband's jeans were all streaked with water; my pants just had beaded droplets that fell off. Also, when I got persistent dirt on these, I was able to take a wet sponge and just rub the spot away. That being said, these pants still breathe amazingly well, and were very comfortable in the desert (Death Valley, they did very well). They feel breezy and light, don't retain moisture and sweat at all, and have a decent SPF rating. One thing worth mentioning is that the Pulse color worked great in the desert, but the black does feel a little hotter in direct sunlight. During cold nights, these pants are very thin, and are certainly not made for cold conditions. If you're looking to do some hiking under fluctuating temps, I'd think about bringing along a thin base layer to put under these.
4) Last of all, comfort. These are the most comfortable hiking/traveling pants I've ever had. They have a snap button and a drawstring, so they're reasonably adjustable; this makes them very forgiving for days spent hiking and climbing and nights spent with junk food and beer. Sizing up a little allowed for great range of movement, and the drawstring allows for more size variance. Being 5'5, they didn't drag on the ground while I wore hiking shoes, but I did need to tuck them under my heel in flip flops.
Overall, these are great pants for traveling and hiking. I haven't put them through a lot of washes, so I can't speak for their long term durability, but they were very comfortable and performed well.
I'm in love with these pants! So comfortable and the fit is fantastic! I'm 5'5 145 Curvy athletic built. I carry weight in my hips, rear, and thighs. These pants are perfect. I got a size 8 regular which is the size pants I wear in everything and they are roomy. If these were everyday pants, I'd get a size 6 but for hiking and canyoneering, these are perfect. Can't recommend them enough!
The drawstring at the waist assures that they won't fall off. I wore these on a 13 hour canyoneering trip in Zion Canyon. They dried quickly and made it so I could move comfortably. I also wear them as everyday pants because they look so good and are comfortable.
These are the BEST pants! They are incredibly comfortable and have amazing stretch - I like having lots of freedom to move. I wore these on a week-long vacation through the Canadian Rockies and they lasted through everything: They dried extremely quick after I was splashed by waterfalls and rain. They didn't lose their shape on hours-long hikes. They kept me cool in the hot sun. I easily wore a pair of fleece-lined leggings underneath on a glacier hike, and I was plenty warm and braced from the intense wind.
The fit is fantastic. I'm a size 8, and the size 8 fit perfectly. I bought 2 pairs, and they are totally worth the investment. They hold up perfectly in the washer and dryer. I'm also a dance teacher and see myself wearing these to class. They feel better than my athletic pants from Athleta, Lululemon, Free People, Old Navy, and H&M.
Picture is from Athabasca Glacier taken by my husband :)
I am 5' 5" and 150lbs and purchased the size 8 regular and the fit great. The pockets may gap a little so a 10 would probably have been sufficient as well. I wore these all weekend on a backpacking trip. Comfortable and lightweight even in 90 degree weather. The only concern was that the fabric was easier for ticks to hold on to than my husband's more standard hiking pants. Additionally, the area that sits tight against the skin (thighs), mosquitos were able to bite through. I walked through a stream and they dried very quickly!
Ordered size 4 ... my measurements are waist 29 inches and hip 39 inches ... these pants run great ... so I ordered this size ... although according to the measurement table should be 6 or 8. and I am perfect. .. stretch and are very comfortable
Love these pants and fit. I am glad I chose a size 6R for 125-128lbs weight and 5' 4" ht. The size 4 fit but looked like legging tight in the thigh. Size 6 is more sporty look for my weight. The pants are perfect for travel and hot weather. They have good stretch so movement is easy and they are light weight and quickdry, all the features they are desirable for travel to a tropical place. But the only negative is that even after following the washing and drying instructions, the laces got tangled in the pants and the result was a very wired and tangled lace that I was fortunately able straighten by ironing. But when I put it back in I noticed some grey stuff/ material come out which I cannot put back in ( see pics).
I bought these originally to wear for a trip around Yosemite, but have worn them for hiking a good deal since then. Overall, they are lightweight, breathable, stretchy, and fairly flattering. For colder temps I layered thermal underpants underneath, and they still looked good from the outside.
My complaints are that after a few hours of activity, they stretch out and lose some of their shape. Also, the drawstring at the waist adds a bit of bulk in an area where none of us needs any extra. Finally, I'm getting a bit of pilling/fuzziness in a few spots after three months of use. I was hoping they would last longer.
For sizing reference, I am 147 lbs and 5'6". Tried the 8 and 10 but ultimately went with the 8.
I’ve purchased these pants so many times I can’t even keep track. I’ve gained weight through the past 3-4 years and keep coming back for a size up (yikes). I have traveled so many places, different counties, hiked all over and these pants are in every photo. Also my moose jaw shirt is in every photo, haha. I just love the pants. I have them in blue and black. They are super stretchy and accommodate so much growth. I also have the anytime shorts by Columbia and wear them all summer! They are great. Perfect hiking pant, and I wear them around the house too! Washes really well, never fades colors! I have some pilling where my thighs rub together now but that’s natural. I fuzz buzz them back to perfection as needed.
I purchased these pants to wear on a 2 week trip through Central America... I wore them about 3/4 times and then washed them and the material completely pitted and they look horrible. I can not wear them again... I guess if you want to spend $35 for disposable pants, then they were comfortable fir a few wears but if you want something that lasts... look fir a better quality pant.
I'm surprised Columbia allows their brand on these. Unfortunately I returned home 2 days after I could return them.
No exaggeration, these are literally the most comfortable pants I have ever put on. More comfortable than my pj pants. I bought them to wear on an excavation site in the Mediterranean so I needed something light, stretchy, and durable. These fit the bill. The length is perfect, the waistband doesn't dig, and the boot cut fit is flattering. Overall they fit like a dream. For reference I'm 5'4 110lbs and bought the size 2, which are not tight.
Love this jacket already! I've waited for about a year for this color to be restocked, and when Amazon finally alerted me that it was back in stock, it was for much less than most of the colors are listed for.
While I live in Vegas, and it's currently August, I can't speak to the warmth and wind resistance at this point since I won't be using this for another 3ish months.
The fit...
I'm 6' tall and 250 lbs. Yes, I have a belly, 40-42" waist depending on the pants. The XL fits exactly as I'd hoped it would! Again, being August, no stores here have this jacket in stock, so trying one on in person is a no-go. Based on the sizing chart (chest size, specifically), this jacket fits just like I want it to. The sleeves fall just barely past the wrist. I'm excited for the cold weather to give me a reason to use this. The fleece lining inside is quite warm. I've had similar jackets and know this lining will be warm without adding bulk. As others have stated though, it will grip most materials, and has a tendency to create static cling... not a deal breaker for me, though!
The black/blue combination is better than I expected too, but that's just personal preference.
Columbia is quality all the way.
I bought this jacket for a friend. After reading the reviews I was no sure on what size to order. I ended up choosing a Large.
For reference: He is 6ft tall and 202 lbs.
It fit him well and is very roomy.
My picture is of a size L/G right out of the package. Doesn't look form fitting, but also doesn't appear to be able to layer more than one or two shirts underneath. I purchased as a gift for someone who is 185 and 6'1, wears size L fitted dress shirts- it looks as if it will fit them. I'll update when they try it on!
Edit 3/30/17: Changed my rating to 5 stars. My boyfriend loves this and continues to wear it literally everyday...even while at work, over a button down, so I know it is more than comfortable for him. I love a good north face soft shell, but I think this one wins!!! If you're on the fence, go for it :)
Perfect fit large size. 36-39 waist
Color isn't even close to what the picture shows. Very disappointed.
I had this exact jacket before, but the zipper broke in the wash. It’s my favorite jacket, so I had to had to get a new one. It looks good, has zipper pockets on both sides and on the left breast, it’s comfortable, and it’s a good weight for spring and fall. The inside is soft like fleece and the outside is a smoother neoprene. Adjustable Velcro cuffs. I’m 6’2 and 195 pounds, and the XL fits me perfectly. In short, I love this jacket because of how it looks, the comfort, and the ample pockets.
Fix
Before taking a trip to the mountains, I realized I didn't own a single jacket or coat. Bought this expecting to return it for not fitting. I'm a big guy so finding a good fit is hard. 2xl fit like a charm. Very warm considering it's size.
I ordered these jackets for my employees for Rad Week. Price was incredible compared to buying it in the store. Fits are great, true to size.
I wear this jacket almost everyday. It is definitely a favorite among my light to medium jackets.

I bought this jacket because it was advertised as waterproof. I specifically did not buy one that was "water resistant." I wore this for a hike for the first time today and as you can see from the picture, it is not waterproof.
I came back soaked from the hike. I wish I could give this product a zero because it does not work as advertised. DO NOT BUY this if you will be in the rain for any prolonged period of time.
I love style of the jacket overall. A little on the big side (leaving room for layering) and nice enough for going out to dinner as well as fishing. There’s no holes so not much ventilation. It’s mostly waterproof but not enough for heavy rain all day.
One of the downsides are they use Velcro around the wrists which looks cheap and is slightly uncomfortable. I’ll still give 1 star because I have no choice.
These leaks people complain about aren’t leaks. It’s your sweat. May as well wear a garbage bag.
I purchased this jacket for a 2 week trip to Iceland and I'm so thankful I did.
It rained on us almost every day while we were there but this jacket never failed me, The rain would simply bead up and run off, We went on several very long hikes in moderate to heavy rains and when I returned to my tour bus my arms and under shirt were always bone dry.
I highly recommend this jacket!
I couldn't be more happy with this addition to my setup.
Once it’s packed in the packable pocket, the whole outside is just of mesh material, which is easier to tear amd get rugged faster.....and it doesn’t zip; it’s only held together by velcro...which could also fail quickly. Buy a size smaller and be ready to be in a sauna. Jacket definitely sticks to your skin in any degree weather.
Wow the quality is horrible, the jacket isn’t water proof and the zipper already broke after just 1 day!
This product works great for wind and rain. There is a mesh netting inside on the main body. No insulation so this is just a shell. Wear a fleece under it and it's perfect. Nice thing about it being a shell is it fits right in small spaces or a hoodie pocket for reference. I am 6ft 230lbs. Broad shoulders and it fits perfect not to snug or loose... I can wear warmer clothing under it and have plenty of movement. Great product
I bought an XL size but although it is labeled XL it's measures are at least a 3X size. Not at all pleased with my purchase, i cant even complain with the seller.
Nice rain jacket
I purchased the Columbia mens rain jacket for my husband. It fits him very nicely and has come in very
handy while vacationing in Florida. It has been very rainy this year so he has been wearing it a lot. The
jacket looks great, is stylish and is made very well. It is lightweight and has worked out great while walking
around town and bike riding. It has a hood that is rolled up in the collar and is held in by velcro closures, the
hood also has locking pulls to hold it closed around your face.
It has very large pockets that have a mesh lining and smooth moving zipper closure. The cuffs of the sleeves have
elastic and velcro so you can tighten the cuff if need be. The bottom of the jacket has elastic drawstring hem
with a plastic spring loaded toggle so you can tighten the bottom and lock it in place. It also has another pocket
on the inside left breast area, it is lined and has two velcro closures. It is larger than the size of my hand while
being spread open. It is great to keep your phone or a mp3 player in. My husband is very pleased with the jacket
and happy that it has kept him dry.

The (large) jacket fits perfectly. I am almost completely satisfied with the jacket. I say "almost" because this jacket was not exactly what I expected based on the online description. I was misled by one reviewer who stated that the jacket was "warm". There is no lining in this jacket as implied by the "warm" description. The online illustrations of this jacket (and all jackets and coats) should present the potential buyer with a view of the interior and not not just the exterior style. But I can still make use of this jacket. The 5-star rating refers only to the quality of the jacket.
The jacket I received is a fake. I also ordered a tall to compared the lengths. See pictures. The tall jacket is on the left off the 1st 3 pics and the bottom on the last. The fake jacket does not have Columbia embroidered, it is a sticker of some sort. Also the tag on the inside is different as with the "Omni-tech" on the sleeve. The fake jacket does not have "Packable" on the inside of the pocket. The jacket appears nice and I would have not questioned its authenticity if I didn't have the tall jacket to compare. I am returning it.
Update: Now both sleeves!
It’s a good quality rain jacket and looks well made but the sleeve liners are too long for the sleeve. Because of the old color of the sleeve liner, it is always quite obvious.
Great jacket, real comfortable, I like how your can Adjust certain parts of the jacket to make it more water proof most Jackets are pre-adjusted and it's uncomfortable this one lets you adjust that yourself to your comfort and preference and the tag says $90 and I got for $60 on here so great deal !!!

I bought this for a fishing trip up to the Kenai River in Alaska. It rained while I was there, dugh! Bottom line is that while standing in the Kenai River in the rain, wearing this jacket while wearing sock-footed waders, I stayed dry and comfortable. I also caught the best fish while it was raining. Since this jacket rolls up so small, it is now part of my packing for even the shortest trips. The attached hood is another big plus. Now get out there and explore something.
I bought this jacket because it was advertised as waterproof. I specifically did not buy one that was "water resistant." I wore this for a hike for the first time today and as you can see from the picture, it is not waterproof.

While this jacket has some mesh lining, it is only on the front portions near the zipper. The rest of the inside is open to the inside liner that acts as more of a sauna than anything else. The inside of the sleeves stick to my arms at the first sign of perspiration and that is with wearing the jacket in cool temperatures (in the 40 to 50 degree range Fahrenheit) . The jacket uses Velcro patches to secure away the rain hood and uses the same means to secure an inside pouch that it touts one is able to use to store the jacket in on itself. I am weary of using the Velcro patches as the ones around the hood already show some strain in the stitches used to secure them. This is the second jacket that I ordered that used the Velcro means to secure the hood - I returned the first as the Velcro patches on it already had the stitching pulling out completely.
Overall, I highly, highly recommend this jacket. After having it for a year, I have to say it's amazing. It's perfect for every occasion aside from of course the hot weather. I recently just went up to Port Angeles and it was really chilly but this jacket kept me warm. The material felt amazing, the fit was perfect, and I definitely will be buying another raincoat from Columbia.
That being said, the only problem I have with this jacket, and considering this is my first Columbia ran jacket, is that when I walk around wearing this jacket, the jacket makes me sweat and after I take it off, my whole torso is damp. I'm pretty sure that just standard with all rain jackets. But whatever, I still love this jacket.
I am very satisfy with this windbreaker or rain jacket. i give it one star off because it is a little little bit larger with a small size, and i wear medium for shirts. I love the design of this jacket. it has the hidden hoodie in its collar. The color of this jacket is very stylish. the jacket is super thin, and it covers the neck completely. The jacket is very thin, and it keeps me warm and i sweat all the time. it helps me to stay warm and stop the winds going to my body. I always wear this to hiking on a snow mountain or windy day or just chill days. Still Love it since i bought for 5 years.

This is a nice light weight jacket. I paid $39 before shipping etc and on the tags when I got it said $60. I got the chartreuse / Ash grey
I couldn't be more happy with this addition to my setup.

This jacket is fully waterproof but doesn’t have a drawstring for the hood. It’s a great, lightweight, unlined rain jacket that can be layered in colder weather. I got size 2T for a 15 month old child who is 32” tall and weighs 25 lbs. although the hood doesn’t have a drawstring, it’s large enough and it stays on his head just fine. I was looking for elastic wrists and this has them, although it is big on him so they don’t work as planned. He’s pictured wearing a Mickey Mouse harness and a drool bib over the jacket.
This fit a little small on my two year old. Now I kind of wish I would have went with a 3T. Still fits though. I’ve attached a picture for size.

Update: Now both sleeves!
Within 3 days of wearing, it's completely discolored. It's like it was spray painted black, and the spray paint has come off.
The photos are from just THREE days of wear.
I first wrote that this was a good solid belt ... but after a couple of days wear, I have noticed a couple of issues. First, it is without a doubt the most difficult belt I've ever owned when it comes to buckling and unbuckling it. Perhaps this will improve with wear, but currently it just about takes two hands and a upper tilting motion to get it unbuckled. In addition, I wore it yesterday and was doing a little yard work for an hour or so. When I went to take a shower, I removed the belt from my tan shorts and noticed the belt let a tan stain around where the belt sits on the material. Not good. I've revised my rating and review to take it down in rating due to this issue. It does keep my pants up ... and that's all I can say about that. UPDATE: I took it down another star because of it ruining my clothes (see photo) ... the first time it faded, I kind of understood because I was working outside -- the fading on this pair of shorts, I wasn't sweating -- just lounging around the house. Wish I'd made another choice!
After shopping around in bunch of stores and here on Amazon, I decided to take a chance on this belt. I have 2 other Columbia belts and a ton of coats and jackets by them, so I know they rock. This belt is no exception, it is an excellent belt and here's why...
At first I didn't think I would like the synthetic upper. As it turns out, it's much durable then a genuine leather upper. It hasn't marked up or ripped like my other belts in this class. My pics tell the real story, but for me - I like the "I'm not real shinny look" this belt has. There is a tad more room with this belt, so for me that was a plus as my other belts are a little too tight with a dress shirt and slacks. It's also not as stiff as my other Columbia belts - I can't find anything to dislike about this belt and plan on getting another one in brown.
All in all, this Columbia Men's Trinity 35mm Feather Edge belt was exactly what I was looking for. Great Belt!
This is my second time exchanging this belt. This time the belt received has no holes for the belt to actually clasp. How did this pass quality control? Belt itself seems nice but haven’t heard anything from the seller regarding my issues.
My original belt is fine, but the second belt that arrived in November has fallen appart. It lasted for 4 months with light use. I attached a picture below. I'm lowering my initial review from 5 stars to 2 stars.
I've been wearing this belt daily for about 2 months. It's holding up really well. The material is as nice as it was when it was unboxed. I like Columbia as a brand. Over the years, I've owned a couple pairs of their shoes and clothes-all lasted a long time. The prices were also reasonable-I usually waited for sales.
For the licenced and lawful concealed carriers out there-this belt works well. I use a CrossBreed holster with it. Very secure and comfortable.
Given this belt a 3 Star review, looks great will update later if it holds up. This is replacing my 10 year old belt. Looks like it is a simple stitch to hold the buckle.
I bought this expecting a *real* leather belt as described (100% leather). I received it to find that is is synthetic something wrapped around real leather. Why? I would have returned base on bad product description, but I really needed to wear it the night it arrived. I imagine that over time it will split like so many other bonded leather belts, right at the hole you use the most. for $10 not worth the hassle of complaining
The stitching which holds the buckle to the belt fell apart after 4 wearings. Renders the belt useless
This is fake. Not really Columbia brand. I've always used Columbia belts and this feels cheap like plasticy leather, not genuine. It's stiff and held together by a thread, not like real Columbia belts that's sewn or stitxed together
Awful product. I got this belt on February 20th 2018 and on March 30th 2018 it fell apart! I had this belt for barely a month and it literally left me with my pants down at work. Now what I expected from such a popular brand. Stay away from this awful belt!
I had high hopes for these boots. They look cool and kept my feet nice and dry. I never had problems with slipping or water getting into the boot. Everything seemed perfect but then after about 3 weeks multiple issues started happening. The back of the heel was digging into my achilles/heel pretty hard to the point where i don't even put them on anymore. It is very Whatever type of material they're using for that is obviously too thin if it only lasted close to a month. Also, the shoe lace tabs near the high ankle are made of thin cheap aluminum and bend very easily. I had to take a pair of pliers several times to bend them back so i could actually fit the shoe lace in. If they made some simple improvements to this boot it would be great. Sadly i will not buy these again.
I love these boots. They lasted me 7 months before the soles wore smooth about average for me. No tearing or delamination of the sole. Just bought my 2nd pair and did a 13 mile hike strait out of the box. Every other boot I've had in the past has destroyed my feet attempting such a feat. I'll be buying another pair in 7 months....
Very good shues, size and quality as expected.
These were mostly serviceable boots at first, although they were only vaguely waterproof. Walking in a pouring rain (but not through standing water), my feet would end up soaked because rain dripped off my pants and onto the fabric between the laces.
I was okay with that, but was less impressed when one sole started falling off five months after purchase. Granted, I walk at least 15 miles per week, so that's about 300 miles. Still, I would have liked to get at least nine months out of these boots.
I found the boot to fit according to the sizing chart. The heel cup is stiff and I can't tell after daily wear for a week or so if it will break in. The insoles are thin as others mentioned, but it isn't a problem for me. I applied Neets Foot Oil liberally and found the boots to be waterproof during a rainy week of walking the dog in rain and wet grass and mud.
I returned this pair because the quick lace eye (left boot, interior side, 2nd from the top) was bent significantly after such minimal use. I have asked for a replacement pair. Perhaps it is a parts supplier QA problem and I'll get a boot with properly made parts. If not, I'll be returning that pair as well. A new boot should not have metal bits so easily bent. What will that mean for longer term wear?
I am picky about my footwear. After years in the Marines, I won’t sacrifice on my feet’s comfort. I want comfortable, well built, good materials, and something that can take abuse.
Bought these boots based in internet reviews and Amazon reviews. Fantastic boots! Great quality, good fit, ruggade yet light... Multiple colors... Great for day hikes or daily wear. Longer hikes I would prefer a heftier boot.
ONE recommendation: They fit great out of the box. But my feet are boarderline wide so I bought the “wide” size. So happy I did. Plenty of room AND I was able to add better inserts than the ones that came with the boot! (See pics: black came with boots, tan ones I added) The fit and comfort level now is on the “WOW” factor! Get better inserts and you won’t be disappointed!
A great pair of affordable, everyday boots. I purchased these to replace my beloved old hiking boots, and I couldn't be happier. I've been wearing them a few times a week for the last couple of months, and so far, they are great. They were a little stiff the first time I wore them, but have not given me any problems or discomfort. I have worn them in multiple rain storms, and have been soaked a couple of times, but have, so far, always come home with dry feet. I do wish the ankle was cut straight across the top, rather than down and back, as that does tend to cause my pant leg to ride up on it (and potentially allow water inside) but this is just a personal preference, and hardly worth complaining about. These are also light weight, and the sizing is exactly as expected. I'm definitely happy with these so far.
Nice all day breathability, however, I would suggest changing the inserts to something a little more sturdier if you use them for work and walk @7 miles a day. Other than that, wonderful boots, absolutely worth every penny!
I wear a 14 EEE so i bought the 14W. They are not wide at all. they dont even physically look wider than a standard shoe. Returned. Disappointed. The solid colored laces in the pictures are these boots. The brown/orange laces are the ones that I had to buy from somewhere else that ARE wide.
The incest souls are about 1/8th of an inch thin. its uncomfortable to say the least. You'd have to buy new souls to try to make it work. The area around the ankles is very hard and stiff with no real support so when you walk it grinds against your ankles like a hard peace of plastic. Overall its very low quality - feels like something you'd pay $3 for at the sale bin at payless. The positive reviews for htis shoe seem fake.
This is the second sun hat I have purchased. I bought his full price, not as a reviewer. It is a lightweight hat with a floppy brim. I read some of the review of this product before buying it, and a few commented on being unhappy with the brim due to it being without structure. So I am noting here it is a floppy brim hat--like a fishing hat.
It comes in a poly bag, which is no frills, but also keeps the cost down. So no problem there.
Pros:
Lightweight
Cool
Good ventilation for the head
Would be great for travel--backpacking, or anything where you wanted a hat and you would have to pack it. It does get a little crinkly, and if that bothers you, you could iron it on the lowest setting. They do not tell you to do that,so it would be at your own risk. But I did it and it worked fine with a cool iron.
The size is adjustable, which is nice, as you can never really get an exact fit for your head unless you go get an expensive hat--so this is a good solution.
Seems well made, good materials and well put together. Not a chintzy product.
Cons
None really--provided you know what you are buying. It is a lightweight sun hat with a floppy brim.
I am glad I got it and would do so again.
I bought this hat to help protect my face while out on the water for a recent trip to French Polynesia. The hat is lightweight, collapses down to a small size for packing, is very breathable and provided the sun protection I was looking for. My head is slightly narrow but long and so I often have a difficult time get a hat to fit right. With the elastic draw string I got just the right fit. I was so pleased with my hat that I bought my father in-law one and he wears his anytime he is out in the yard.
Pros:
- Light weight
- Collapses to a small size for packing
- Good sun protection
- Adjustable fit with the use of the elastic draw string
Cons:
- I wish it were somehow more stylish. But as far as sun hats go, this one looks pretty good.
I really like these Columbia Bora Bora Booney II hats. I bought one in Fossil and liked it so much that I bought another in Sage for my husband (see pic of the two colors). The hats are floppy and you'll potentially look ridiculous wearing them, but there's nothing like taking your shade with you wherever you walk. The sun where I live beats down mercilessly in the summer and the skin temperature difference between being under shade or being under direct sun is enormous. I was skeptical about the value of the mesh area for cooling, but I can clearly feel a breeze passing through the hat when the wind blows, so it definitely fulfills its function. At first I considered buying a cool looking stiff-brimmed outdoor hat, but being very practical and caring less and less about fashion as I get older, I chose this Bora Bora hat instead. The Bora Bora hat can be folded up in your cargo short's side pocket when you're inside (and not wearing it - like when you're in a grocery store) and then unfolded and worn again when you're back outside. You certainly can't do that with a stiff-brimmed hat. If you're heading outside in the searing sun and don't want to have to coddle a stiff-brimmed hat, then you need one of these practical Bora Bora hats.
This hat changed my life. I have become a complete jungle man. Frogs immediately gravitate to me. I’ve started a frog training school. The only part of my old life that I’ve brought with me is my beloved coffee mug. This hat has truly transformed my life and it protects my skin so I’m at my best for frog school every day. Seriously, buy this hat. It's incredible.
Just got back from a week in Banff, Canada, We hiked a lot of trails and went up chair lifts and gondolas at high elevations. The hat kept my head cool and my face and neck protected from the sun. The MVP of the hat was the chin strap. On the open chairlifts, the wind was whipping fast and had big gusts. The chin strap kept the hat right in place, never felt like I was going to loose it.
Hat fit very nicely. I normally wear a New Era hat L/XL and I could tighten the head strap more if I felt like having a more snug fit. Got a lot of complements from friends about the hat.
The brim isn't super stiff, but I like that for packing it in my day pack when it's not needed.
The only minor con that I could think of is the chin strap connected to the edge of the hat where my ears were and sometimes it would aggravate my ears. But it wasn't enough to doc a star, maybe half of a star.
So worth the purchase. It fits better than the Cabelas Boonie hat I bought a few weeks prior (tight on the head)...glad I picked this hat up.
I highly recommend this hat!!
Got this for my husband for Father's Day and he loves it! We spend a lot of time at the pool and the ocean and it does a great job of protecting the sun from his face and neck. Thinking about getting one for myself as well!
This is a fantastic hat. It is extremely light. It's very easily foldable to fit in your back pocket or travel bag. It dries very quickly. It is the perfect Fisherman's hat, camping hat, Beach walking hat, or any other outdoor fun activities you enjoy. Keep the sun off of your head and stay cool, and you look cool too!
Great Hate, Well built. I love how light and durable it is. I can fold it, roll it or smash it and it will still hold its shape. The mesh parts on it are great because it helps your head breath and not get all sweaty.
One hat was new, and one was used and "washed" (note puckered seams on brim). Two different colors. Different hardware. Different UPC codes on tags. Different Sizes, one so small it would not fit on my head, the other "unwashed, new" one fit fine with room to spare. What gives?
This hat lived up to reviews. I spent a week in Europe and walked all over Barcelona with this hat on to protect my face and head from the sun. No burns at all. It is comfortable and does not make me look too dorky (unless you are Australian, you can't help look somewhat douche in this hat but, I'll trade that for no burns. The neck strap worked great when a sea breeze kicked up. I will wear this to walk my dog now that I'm home. It is still in really good shape after 10 days on my sweaty head.
They are a bit snug but that most likely is my fault for not getting them in wide. They are very comfy even with being snug. Very light, soft interior. I have walked in the rain in them and my feet stayed dry. Id buy them again.
Very good. Nice and smart. Better to have 0.5 size larger perhaps.
I used this boots in my crazy expedition in Siberia ,one week ago.I use it everyday with one pair of warm socks .I was very afraid before, because i get a bad experience in Reykjavik ( -3°C) without proper socks. staying in one place for more than 30 minutes; With the right socks in Siberia, i never had any problem in temperature -10 -20 °C . And the best thing...i was able to run on ice,i played football and i was the fastest in the ice;and do u know why because of the Michelin WINTER COMPOUND anti-slip rubber.Everybody was surprised about that and i show them why! Is crazy but i was the only one, with safest condition walking on Baikal frozen lake, in colder Siberia.I used spike too on boots for ice-snow because if snow filled the Michelin rubber was trouble. Definitely I recommend to everybody and definitely i will order one more in future, if this will get broken.I have to test it in more endurance for long period of time.
In Siberia i used on all fields (sand, rock, water, wood) and most of time on ice, crossing frozen Baikal lake.I was lucky and proud because i ordered from amazon (nobody in Europe had that size 41.5) , arrived in 3 days and able to finish my trip to Siberia in excellent condition. Thanks Amazon and thanks Columbia for your good job building this great boots !
Excellent Fit! This boots is thru size, I'm size 10 and fits perfectly! Love this boots, nice design . . .
Clearly factory seconds....stitching is slightly off in places that will eventually cause lace eyes to rip out. They were okay at first until I noticed that, that's the reason for 2 stars, still a very good boot but clearly Factory rejects and will last nowhere near as long as it should. There is already stitching Coming Undone around the lace holes. The more of this I write the more angry I get.
They fit perfectly and I use them for the snow recent great product I don't have no complaints about it
Buy a half number less than your normal size
I live in Alaska and bought these from a local store and wanted to rate them for the general buyer. I thought these would be great for cold weather due to its cold weather rating. I was wrong. It’s 15 degrees out I’m my feet are freezing, even with wool socks on! I do not recommend these at all. The only plus is they’re comfortable and have great traction.
So size was definitely an issues on this one. I typically wear a medium. I'm 5'4" and 140 lbs. I ordered the medium but it was tight around my hips. I could zip it but it didn't look attractive. I exchanged if for a large and it's a little big now, but I would rather that than tight. The arms are LONG. I have to fold them up and under, which works fine. The white is picking up a lot of dirt around the neck, the inside is softer material and getting nasty from makeup. I think the warmth is great for basic day to day use. I wore it to and from work during a cold snap with temps around 0-10 and I felt fine. I wouldn't have worn it on a long walk in that weather though. I did wear it on a walk when it was around 17 degrees with a fleece under it and felt fine.
Item arrived just win the Carolinas dip down into the teens, this ultra thin ULTRA warm coat Kept me amazingly warm for how thin it is. The size is spot on, I am a herbaceous 5’6 size 14 160 lbs - This coat had no problem handling these hips. Extremely comfortable. Highly recommended! Oh and why did anybody mention the shimmering fabric on the inside? Too fun!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this jacket! The length, low pockets, and cut are SO flattering. My favorite is the COLOR! It does have full omniheat interioe lining. Although not a winter jacket for Northern North Dakota it's cute for 'our' warmer days in the 20's and up. (NO wind chill!) :-D I am 5'8" and ordered a LARGE and XL. The XL was way too big for me and the large is a tish snug in the hips. I did order the Mighty Lite Jacket in the same size and another color and it was a bit looser. SO CLOSE! If you have extra weight, a good size bum, larger hips or a larger chest, order a size up for comfort and layering. (The pics are a large!) PS The models finger holes match the coat. It is actually GREY!
Omg I love this jacket. It’s thin and warm. No bulkiness. I will put it to a true test in Chicago soon. Wonderful how it covers your backside. The best part are the sleeves. (See pic) keeps the cold air out and gloves tucked! What a great idea.
I really like the color and fit. Though, I’d prefer snaps to the zipper or in addition to the zipper.
I have gotten compliments and ordered a shorter version and another color to have other options. However, before I could try them I discovered a real “snag” in the design. I tried to get a picture, but the lighting is bad.
The material is very light and shiny, which looks great. I also hoped it would be a bit more stain resistant than my down patagonia jacket I have had for years. However, the jacket has snagged more than once on doors inside. I never had that problem with my Patagonia jacket, which I have worn in the same location for 3+ months.
I wear winter wear inside bc in LA, the AC is on inside no matter how cold it is outside and I sit right under a vent.
I will keep this jacket, but returning the others. Very sad :-(
This coat is perfect for a hike or outdoor activities in lower temps. It's great for wearing over a warm base layer, but keep in mind the fit is a bit closer to the body so it's not great for multiple layers (base layer + shirt + fleece etc). If you really want or need to do that, size up. I was wearing a thermal top and long sleeved t-shirt under the coat when the temp was 12f and it was rather toasty and the fit was fine.
The hood isn't perfect, a draw-string would be ideal to tighten it and seal out the cold air, so if you're going to be out in single digit temps or sub zero, I'd add a balaclava to prevent cold air from seeping in. If the hood were adjustable, it would be a 5 star coat.
The fit was really good. I am 5'8" and weigh aprox 135 pounds. I bought a medium. It fits well with a large sweater underneath but with only a t-shirt it also fits well, not all baggy or too big feeling. 2 large outside pockets that zipper as well as 1 inside zippered pocket. I love the longer length to cover the bum as well the hood for when you need one here in the PNW. I find it flattering. I think it would be great for travel as it is not a bulky coat and would jam/roll up/stuff into a bag well. My only complaint is the dual zipper is hard to get started. Other than that, I highly recommend.
I ordered this coat in March of 2018. I ordered a XL because of my large chest size. It was a great fit, not tight fitting, lots of room. I live in St. Louis, MO so it was still cold/chilly until mid-late April. I wore it those few months with no issue. I started wearing it again in October 2018. I wore it semi-regularly. When it dipped into the 20s or lower, then I wore a different coat. I washed it once in December 2018 per the washing instructions on the inside of the coat. Now it's February 2019 and the zipper busted. I had the coat for less than a year.
Not cut for my shape ???????? I’m smaller up top so the size Medium was very baggy in the arms, shoulders, back and chest. The coat is cut fuller up top and narrow through the hips ???? The shape felt like an upside-down triangle. It would work better on a different body type.
I walk a lot and I can tell I would be annoyed by the hood and breeze getting in since there’s no way to fasten it. Otherwise, it’s a nice coat and pretty colour. It’s super lightweight but feels warm.
Let me start out with: THESE ARE AMAZING BOOTS and YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THESE BOOTS. These boots held up against all different types of climates and weather and water on my road trip and they still look great! We went to Arizona, Utah, Nevada; the Grand Canyon, Joshua Tree, Zion, Salt Lake. We went through water, dessert, rain, and mud, and these boots held it fine. The only thing we didn't go through was snow, because apparently even though we Californians were freezing our butts off already, the locals said the weather was actually great, and that the colder weather and storms were actually late this year xD.
Anyways, these boots were extremely lightweight and required almost no breaking in. My friend had some HiTech hiking boots and she said these Columbia boots were a lot lighter than hers. They were so extremely comfortable and easy to walk in. The size fits as expected if you go a half size up, and walking through the river, it kept my feet nice and dry. I think it would definitely keep you dry, but remember only as far as the shoe goes will it keep you dry lol. They've also got amazing grip. Whether we were on wet stones, or gravelly and sand covered rocks that could easily give way and make you slip or fall they worked amazingly.
Super pleased with these boots. I bought a size 8, the same size I am in sneakers. I typically wear a 7.5 in other leather non-hiking shoes. They're a little clunky looking around the ankle IMO, but look better than most other hiking boots. They didn't need a lot of breaking in -- I wore them once on a short 2-mile hike in PA and then didn't wear them again until I went on a much longer hiking trip across the Southwest in autumn. Wore them for five days straight in dust, on rock, in soil, in small creeks across the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion, including a few strenuous trails, and they performed amazingly with good traction the whole time. They felt lightweight and flexible. No blisters, no discomfort. I would buy them again tomorrow if anything happened.
Pros:
Boot fit perfectly. I'm an 8.5, ordered an 8.5, and took them to work the next day with no blisters. They are waterproof. Good grip on them.
Cons:
However, I read a lot of reviews before purchasing these boots and trusted them but my boots did not meet my expectations. I love and trust Colombia, but these boots get extremely hot with a little sunlight. Your feet feel as if they are burning and I often have to put water on them to cool them down. I'm a field biologist working in San Clemente Island and we hike where there's lots of cholla and prickly pears. The cholla went right through my boots! Very painful. The worst part is that this is the only pair of boots I have with me on the island so I have to suffer with them until I get off.
Ordered my size (6) and half a size up (6.5) and ended up keeping the 6. I tried them on with the wool socks I use for my hikes and it was the perfect fit. They were stiff and felt slightly tight at the beginning but I wore them every day to school for 2 weeks and they were ready to go. The first 2 or 3 days I wore them they hurt where they bent at the crease, it almost made me return them, but I kept on wearing them and that went away. If you are in a budget and need something reliable for hiking I would recommend these pair of boots.
Not sure if they are waterproof yet but will update whenever I test them on water.
UPDATE July 2017
I went hiking on snow and after 3 hours the water made its way into my shoes. If you are a serious hiker in need of real waterproof boots, these are not the ones for you. I learned it the hard way and went to buy $150dls Vasque boots from REI, worth every penny!! These columbia boots started to fall apart by the end of my hike (15 miles, 4,000ft elevation) :(
I bought these boots for my trip to Iceland and they worked out phenomenally. I was concerned because I hadn’t broken them in before the trip, but they ended up feeling very comfortable. They felt very agile hiking and crossing across rocks, etc. Also, I think they are pretty cute and inexpensive relative to a lot of other popular brands for boots.
I wear size 10.5-11, I got those in 12. Has a little more room but better for wearing thicker socks. Today did my first 2 hours hiking with them. No problems! No blisters. They look great too!
I could not recommend these hiking boots enough! I bought them for Machu Picchu and rainbow mountain with very little time to break them in before the hikes, I had zero issues with blisters or sore feet. I wore them through snow, mud and streams and they kept my feet warm and dry. They are so comfortable and I look nice on! I am a size 7 and bought a 7.5m, they were a bit roomy even with hiking socks on. If I were to buy again I would go with a size 7.
I was hesitant to buy these because I already had some Merrell low top hiking sneakers that I love...but I was heading out on a snowshoe trip and needed something waterproof and high around the ankles. I unfortunately didn't have a whole lot of time to break them in before my trip which is a huge no-no.
Despite all that, I really loved these boots and so glad that I bought them. My feet stayed dry and warm (along with the wool socks I wore) for the whole hike (about 4-5 hours) and they were also super comfy. I wore them around for the remainder of the weekend too around Yosemite and didn't get any blisters or soreness at all. Plus, they have a nice clean, sleek look to them. For as "heavy duty" as they feel, I think the design is pretty solid. I got a lot of compliments on them actually! For the price, I think they are definitely have great value, especially if you like to get outdoors and take on some more challenging hikes but aren't super hardcore about it. If you are an extreme hiker, maybe something more high-end would be better.
I'm not sure if this is made worse by the fact that I have skinny ankles (I'm 5' 5", 115lbs), but I cannot get the tongues on these to stay closed! I initially tried changing the laces to ones that I could pull tighter, then tried removing the foam from the tongue. I eventually realized that the top eyelet for the laces is extremely low down on the shoe compared to other hiking boots! (If you compare to the mens shoe, you will see what I mean!) It drives me nuts - I get everything in them from rocks to "stickers" to snow, which turns into a nice puddle in the bottom of my shoe! It's a shame because they have great tread, no break in period and are extremely comfortable. Again, I'm relatively small, but these are true to size for me.
I bought these boots in July 2018 and let me say they are single handedly one of the best purchases I have made. I originally bought them for hiking with my boyfriend and they've gotten through some serious mud with dry toes. I didn't expect to wear these year round but once the snow came to my area these boots really pulled their weight. I am notorious for falling and busting my but in rainy and snowy conditions and found myself wearing these to work at any sign of bad weather because the traction on them is amazing. Just this morning I went out to grab the mail and slipped in my driveway from the iced over snow that came overnight. Went back inside, got these boots on, grabbed my broom and went to town breaking up the ice. Why a broom? Because I just moved an don't know where my shovel went. But these boots honestly did most of the work breaking up the ice. You ever a frustrated woman attack a sheet of ice by stomping on it and kicking it out they way? Well you will if she has a pair of boots as good as these. Toes still dry and toasty. Best purchase ever.
I love this fleece. I had already ordered one in the Paisley Purple color and I liked it so much that I decided to get another one in Heather Gray! I got a medium and it's a good fit. I'm 5'3", 124 lbs, with 34" bust, 28.5" waist, and 36" hips. I am usually a small in women's sizes and the purple one I have is a small. Both fit me. The medium is a little looser for a more relaxed fit. I want one in the Lychee color too! These fleece jackets are so cozy and pretty colors. Glad I bought it. The only thing I didn't like was that the gray one took longer to ship to me than the purple one. It arrived 8 days after I ordered it, whereas I got the purple one in 2 days if I recall correctly. It seems to be a popular jacket, so that's probably why. Will probably order another just to have different colors!
This is a great and comfy zip up fleece! I bought a large. I didn't want it to be too tight so I can wear it over things. Luckily the arms weren't too long (maybe slightly but the elastic wrist band made it not noticeable). Which they usually are when I get jackets in size large. (Sometimes need petite of I do. I'm 5'5''.) I wore this in ireland and it was perfect. I wore it almost every day it was chilly. It's a warm jacket. Would keep you toasty on chilly nights. I probably wouldn't wear it in the dead of winter unless I was just going to the gym or something. Definitely doesn't replace a winter coat but great otherwise. I wouldn't want to wear it for that anyway. Perfect fleece without the price of another brand (NF). In fact this was much softer than my fleece from that brand and way cheaper.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I was worried it'd be too bulky, short, or short arms based on reading reviews. But, I have been pleasantly surprised that it fit as I was hoping! I could have even managed a small, but with medium I can layer comfortably! Sea Salt is white FYI if anyone was trying to buy it. I was worried it would be a gray or off-white, but it is white! Which is exactly what I was wanting! I am 5'4 130lbs and medium fit loosely! I ordered 2, one Sea Salt and one Punch Pink.
I love my jacket. I got a small and it fits like a medium but it works out perfect because I can wear sweatshirts underneath it without it being too tight. It's super soft and warm. Shipping took longer than expected but that might've been just because of the holidays. Definitely recommend!! :)
I like Columbia jackets so I ordered two- dark cyan & navy. They arrived promptly as promised. The colors were close to the one pictured. I ordered my usual jacket size because this gives me the flexibility to layer up. When ordering, one should check out the Columbia jacket sizing first to make sure their chest & waist measurements fit. The jacket was of the correct length, covers the crotch just fine as it should. The sleeves were too long but they can be folded neatly. The inside pockets are convenient for must haves like cell phone, small wallet or gloves. I like the colors so much I got my jackets embroidered & personalized elsewhere. Recommended. Can't go wrong with this price.
Great color. I got the light gray. Soft, lightweight but warm. I wanted an alternative to my bulkier north face Denali and this completely for the bill at a fraction of the price.
I ordered the size I thought would fit for Columbia products. This is my second item from Columbia and each time I'm getting a size smaller than usual. Based on the size chart it's accurate. Meaning I fit within the SMALL measurements and the jacket isn't tight on me. Most other brands I would have ordered a Medium. I ordered a small so that I could wear with with a long sleeve shirt under it but not planning on wearing a sweatshirt / sweater under it. I'm 5'8" 120# 34A chest. I like this jacket and plan to use it during outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and canoeing in the Fall. The material is very comfortable and I love that the pockets zip up. They also have what could be considered two pockets on the inside of the jacket. My husband really liked this jacket too, so I ordered him the male version. It's a great find for around $20 on sale.
Update / Re-Order:
I decided to order another size and color. My previous order was brown / small. For a more relaxed look I decided to get the "sunnyside" yellow in medium. The medium fits me as well as the small, but it depends on what I'm planning on using the jacket for. I chose the medium because I'll be using it as a relaxed, layering piece. Technically I could wear this as my size, but it's not as fitted as I would like it to be.
The color "sunnyside" is more of a true sun, baby yellow. Not necessarily pastel baby yellow either, but compared to my lemon juice bottle, yellow crayon, and Penn tennis ball, it is more pastel in color. When I first saw it I thought "Care Bear" stuffed animal colored. The picture from Amazon seems to show a hue of green in the garment that I don't see in person. It's not a shocking neon yellow either. To me it's a true "yellow" even though my "yellow" crayon shows a hue of green to it next to the jacket. I have photos attached that will show the jacket in true sun and two with all three items laying on the jacket. The ones with the items laying on the jacket are in a pitch dark room with only the Samsung S5 camera flash for light. The true sun photos seem to lighten the color of the jacket. Hope this helps.
Looks like they left in the sun for a couple days let it get faded and then decided to send it to me.just looks more grey. Took two pictures with and without flash so you can see for yourself. Not what I thought I was going to get. Since I work outdoors and it's cold in the morning I needed something now and guess this willl have to do until I find something better,if I didn't I'd be sending this right back.
----------update------
Alright, so I've been wearing this everyday for work in the morning and had to literally go across the street at the nearby store while at work to buy a thermal because it dosent actually keep me as warm, when I'm at work it's 42-43 degrees and my uniform includes a short sleeve shirt. The area not covered by my arm and while wearing this jacket is friggin freezing. Maybe it would work for high 50+ degree weather but definitely not for cold weather at all. It's more for kind of not really cold but just a tad bit cold Weather
Perfect. After reading the reviews I was afraid it'd be too big but Im 5'5 127 and got a medium and fits great.
I love this fleece! You can’t beat this price for a Columbia! It’s super warm and fits me great! I was worried it wasn’t going to zip over my chest but it did and I’m a 32DDD and I weigh 145 pounds and I’m 5"7' I got a small.
