I bought these shoes as recommended to me by people who actually run sometimes. I was running more and my crappy old sneakers were doing nothing but bringing me pain. These shoes are so amazing, I frequently wear them out to work and school (and I NEVER wore sneakers for anything other than exercise). They are lightweight but comfortable. My knees haven't hurt since I've been wearing them (and they did with my old sneakers). I'm almost always an 8.5 in shoes, and an 8 would have been too small. I have narrow feet (long and skinny feet), so I have to pull the laces really tight to have them fit comfortably. It's okay though, and they still look and feel great.

My old asics were getting very rough looking bc i have worn them for sooooo long. I decided to order some new ones. I decided to try the asics kahana 8’s a first nd got my size 11.. reviewers were correct they were too tight ????. My feet had zero space to move. So I returned them and got these instead. My size 11 fit perfect. They are comfortable right out of the box! My toes can move! I made a shopping trip and they felt amazing. I have not ran in them yet though im sure they will be great. Absolutely love the color! The lighter gray and the fuschia like purple is gorgeous.

    Nice shoes...

    4 stars

Really like the color, style and the fit is as expected. However, I have the Venture 5 and they are much more comfy then these. I inserted a pair of Dr Scholls inserts to add comfort. But for the price $37, can't complain too much!

I’ve loved wearing ASICS for years now. Went to my local shoe store and these were priced a ridiculous $120 so Amazon having them for $40 was great. They’re wonderful shoes but I’m not made of money nor would I be willing to spend the big bucks on work shoes. I work on my feet 12 hour days in a hospital running around so these are perfect. They’ve got a weird puller-onner tab on the back of the shoe that is actually quite large so I’ll probably end up cutting those off down the line if they bother me enough.

These are great. I have a wide foot and Asics seem to fit great. I ran about 15 miles the first week and never had to break them in. They are super comfortable. I highly recommend. I buy new shoes about every six months and I really don't want to spend a ton of money on each pair.

    Great shoes, great price.

I looking for a reasonably priced pair of Tennis shoes. They are a bit different from my Nimbus Asics but a big difference. I am really impressed by the Asics because they fit like my old school Nikes used fit and were the same comfort level. I have tendonitis in my left knee and it helps give my foot all the supports I need when both working out and at work. I love this pair so much I hate taking them off and that is saying a lot because I wear mostly sandals, wedge sandals, & boots!!!! I am really impressed & glad I purchased these shoes!!!!

I purchased these tennis shoes in a size 10-1/2 and they are very comfortable. (I'm 5'8"). I like the gel cushion under my heel and my toes have lots of room to wiggle. I love the light aqua color shoelaces & shoe design. It is a nice product and worked out great for me during my exercise routine.

  7. In the past 3 years, I have bought 4 styles of Asics running shoes and these are my favorite!

My sell points for determining that these are "good" sneakers:
1.) Toe Space - I have problems with my toes going numb if I don't have adequate room in the toe box. To accommodate, I usually order a size 10 and lace up tightly (when I wear a 9 or 9.5) in regular shoes. This causes my shoes to typically wear faster in the heels because they side around a little, but my toes don't go numb after my daily 4 mile trail hike.
2.) Comfort - This includes arch support and overall cushioning. I have bad knees, so I can tell when the cushioning starts to go in sneakers. Mine last almost 3 months exactly when worn for 4 miles daily.
3.) Cuteness - Sorry to be vain but I want sneakers to be cute and have pink on them. These are the only kind I buy. Judge me if you must ;)
4.) Easy to put on / take off - I hate untying my shoes, so I love that these have a loop in the back so I can slip them on with minimal unlacing (lazy).
5.) Doesn't cake-in dirt/mud - When on loose dirt trails, I often encounter dirt & mud that gets caked into my soles, so I favor the Asics styles over, say K-Swiss because the soles don't have a lot of "hiding places" for mud to get packed into.

    I compared:
ASICS Women's Gel-Venture 5 - My all time favorite for toe space as well as cushion and arch support and wears well.
ASICS Women's Gel-contend 3 - Wider in the arch area but narrow in the toes and heels.
ASICS Women's Gel-scram 2 - Great toe space but not much arch support to speak of (super-cute though!)
ASICS Women's Gel Frequency 2 - Actually a walking shoe and built much less "tough" and more lightweight but has a flimsy feel to it and comes up short against the back of the heel, so it fit kinda weird.

When I say these shoes "wear well" I mean that they don't look like they are falling apart even after much use/wear. The only indicators of wear that they show are some wear on the inside of the heels but probably only because I wear a half size too big on purpose, and also some fraying where the inner fabric (pink) meets the lace holes. (See pics)

Overall, I love these shoes the best of all I've tried in Asics as well as Adidas, Saucony, Vibram and K-Swiss and won't be straying from the Gel-Venture 5 shoes again. I love them and don't think it gets any better than this :)

Love these!!! Got these for the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon and didn't break them in at all before- still Awesome!!

    Great running sneakers

I have high arches and wide feet, Asics are the best athletic shoes I've found for my type of feet. I highly recommend them for anyone with the same foot type.

These sneakers are so comfortable! I absolutely love them. The colors are great too. Not to mention the price is reasonable too. Would definitely recommend!!!

    Very comfortable sneaker!

I gotta say, I've never been this disappointed with Asics shoes in my life. This is my favorite brand and I've probably purchased Asics half a dozen times, but I will never buy this model again. The shoes are extremely uncomfortable. They irritate my feet when I exercise and leave my feet on the verge of blisters. It's so bad that I can't wear them the next day. I'm not sure if maybe they run too big, but that really surprises me because my shoe size doesn't fluctuate and I have always purchased a size 10, sometimes even 10 1/2. Also, if your feet overpronate I do not recommend these at all as the support on these shoes make my overpronation worse.

    3-month update:
The shoes are now even worse! If there were was an option to choose 0 stars, I would lower my initial 1-star review. It's only been 3 months and the shoes are actually falling apart. I've had Asics shoes that I've worn for hours, 6 days a week, when I used to do marching band that have held up for literally years, but 3 months in and the soles are detaching. I only wear them twice a week for about 2 hours each day when I go to the gym. I'm beginning to think these are not real Asics and maybe I got a knock-off sent to me. Money down the drain :(

So uncomfortable, probably run big So uncomfortable, probably run big

Looking for supportive shoes that are actually meant for running and these are great. Wayyy better than my nikes and way more comfortable. I've always wanted asics but to be honest I could never find the right color or pattern because all the ones they had in store were so ugly and just not my style. But I wanted good quality running shoes and I'm so glad I found this awesome color on here and they are great. I've only worn them once but I know they'll last for a long time because of the quality and they literally just feel sturdier than any other running shoe I've owned. Didn't rub my heel and were true to size. They don't even sell this color on the asics website last time I checked.

Great buy, fab color Great buy, fab color

I love Asics and have worn this brand exclusively for years. I exercise and work on my feet all day so I wear mostly sneakers and make sure to rotate them regularly. With a lot of my recent Asics pairs, I'm starting to think that factory quality is going down hill. I've gotten blisters and rashes from the inner lining wearing out quickly. It cuts into my feet, especially when I go jogging. I've started using Ktape to cover the holes up but who knows how long that will last. Rest of the shoe is holding up well.

usually love Asics but they're manfacturing has been off lately usually love Asics but they're manfacturing has been off lately

Extremely disappointed in this style of ASICS. This is my third pair of ASICS, first Gel Venture. They are by far my least favorite. The fit is as expected, but the overall quality and comfort is poor. These shoes are a lot stiffer than other ASICS styles and the inside material is a cheap felt vs. a silkier material. Because of this I have already worn holes on the insides of both heels (see pic) after only a few months of moderate use (run 2-3 miles approx. 2-3 times week). This is now causing rubbing on each heel, which is uncomfortable while wearing and bothersome even after the shoes come off. I purchased these because of subtle color scheme (charcoal grey/pink/pistachio) was perfect for me and the price was good. Do not be fooled, you get what you pay for! I will go back to the GT-2000, which are incredibly comfortable and durable, even if more costly. Hopefully they have toned down the color scheme on some of the GT-2000s a bit though... ;)

Not all ASICS are created equal

A little stiff out of the box, but felt good. They seemed like maybe 1/2 size big at first but once I broke them in, they feel great. I move around on my feet all day and not once have they hurt my feet. Great cushion and support. The color combo is attractive and rendered some compliments. Over all love these shoes.

    Great look, great fit

  7. Finally, after two terrible generations (23 & 24) Asics Gel-Kayanos are back to the old style and fit. I’ve been wearing Asics Gel-Kayanos for over 10 years and was very distraught with the poor quaility of the previous two models which were narrow and lacked depth- my feet just didn’t fit in them even a whole size up and wide width. The 25s are wide width, roomy in the box and have depth and ankle coverage for my orthodics to fit comfortably inside. I ordered these 1/2 size up which wasn’t necessary as these are true to size, but the extra allows room for my feet to swell. Thank Goodness Asics listened and brought back the quality and fit. I’ve been waiting to try the 25s for about a year now, ordered them immediately and went for a run to test thdm out. I am so glad they are back to normal. ???????? I ordered the size 10 regular width

    Back to Asics, thank Goodness!

I have worn these shoes for over 3 months now and on average I wear it 10 hours a day. I have over pronated ankles, especially my right leg, the style of the shoe has prevented my ankle from rolling when ever Iwalk, stand, or run. At first my long pinky toes were rubbing against the fabric and it was slight irritated/numb for the first two weeks. Good buy after your feet adjust to the shape, and Igot it the same size as my Nike shoes. 9.5

    Overpronate, adapt, and comfort.

Everybody feels that when they put on some new tennis shoes, the past tennis was better. I have had more than 5 pairs of Kayano. Practically all are equal, perhaps a little wide and others a little long. But all are basically the same, just change the color and design. The only thing I do not like is that it is still expensive for those who offer it.

just another Kayano just another Kayano

Haven't tried them out yet, but trying on feels similar to my old 19's. I had to order 1/2 size larger and a D width. My 19's were regular width and regular size 8 I normally wear. Wish Asics would make the D width in prettier colors, black would be great!

Similar to my old worn out 19's! I loved this shoe and color, wish they would bring it back.

    comfortable

    5 stars

my first real running shoes but they are comfortable, feel secure and supportive, nice heel area and good toe room. they feel very sturdy. quite happy.

    comfortable

Everyone's foot is different, everyone does not fit in the same type of shoe. I loved the last two models (23 & 24).

I have attached pictures of my foot in both the 24's (blue) and the 25's (black). You can see the difference in the two shoes. I know my 24's are worn in, but I was able to put on the 24's out of the box and go for a 16 mile run right away without any problems. They just felt great right away.

The toe box in the 25's looks and feels much wider. They do not hug my foot like I want it to. Now that I think back, with my older ASICS Kayano models I would order a half size up and a narrow width instead of a regular, maybe that is the trick with these for me. The 25's also have more of a cushion and they feel a bit heavier. I tried HOKA's because of all the rave and the extra cushion, thinking that the more cushion the better, but my legs, hips, feet just didn't like them. They had so much cushion I felt like I was running through mud and my legs and hips felt out of alignment while I was running. I don't want to test that out on these shoes and be out $160. I am returning these shoes without going for a run in them and going back with the 24's for this running season.

The Kayano 25's are not for me. I just wish Asics would pick a fit and stick with it instead of changing the fit every few years.

Do not like the fit... Wish ASICS Would Pick a Fit and Stick With It! Do not like the fit... Wish ASICS Would Pick a Fit and Stick With It!

    Poor Quality Control

I had worn the Venture 5 for about 2 years prior to getting this Venture 6, and wore them all the time, for everything except the rare formal occasion. I wore Asics' Enduro series of trail running shoes for another 6 years prior to that. My point is that I'm accustomed to wearing Asics trail running shoes for everything, and until the Venture 6 they have been comfortable and suitable for all activities.

The Venture 6 brings a big change from the 5 though - enough of a change that I think they should have just launched it as a new product rather than as an update to the Venture. When buying them I didn't look that closely at the photos because I figured it would just be the same as the 5 with some minor cosmetic alterations, but there are some huge changes to the shoe. Most notable, the tread pattern is completely new. The 6 has a much deeper, more aggressive tread and stiffer sole that might actually be better for trail running, but for everything else it just gets in the way. There's much less ability to feel the pedals when driving and the tread actually catches on the pedal sometimes when maneuvering to park. My picture shows the Venture 6 on the left, Venture 5 on the right for comparison.

They also changed the lacing. All of the Asics shoes I've had in the past have had the topmost eyelet set below the line of the other eyelets and I never used that last pair of eyelets when lacing the shoes. Shoes always fit securely for any activity, even for long distance running they fit perfectly. That changed with the Venture 6. The eyelets seem to have all moved slightly forward on the shoe, and the last set is moved up into line with the other eyelets rather than being below their line. I tried wearing the shoes without using this last eyelet like I always have (the way they come in the box and are shown in the product pictures) and they were incredibly loose. I had to lace to the last eyelet - not actually a bad thing, just a big change from how I've always worn similar shoes from Asics.

It also feels like there's a little more room in the toe - slightly longer than the Venture 5 of the same size, and a little more vertical space inside.

To top it all off, they're not even comfortable to be on your feet in for long periods. I have yet to go running in them (and am somewhat hesitant to do so at this point), but for everyday use they're less comfortable than the other trail running shoes I've worn, the Venture 5 included.

Overall they might actually be better for trail running with the changes to the sole/tread, though I don't know if my feet could take the pounding in them for any significant distance since they're less comfortable than the 5. The problem is that Asics launched this as an update of the Venture, when it should have been produced as a new product line given the extent of the changes, and they took a shoe that was good for everyday use and made it more specialized and not suitable for ordinary activity. Even though these are branded as trail running shoes, Asics should recognize that their customers use the shoes for other activities and an updated version of a product like this, going from Venture 5 to Venture 6, should preserve more of the characteristics of the prior generation. I'll probably go and try to get another pair of Venture 5s to replace these if I can still get them before they're all gone.

Not at all like the Venture 5

Order on June 8th, received sometime middle of june, now its June 30th, and I'm writing a 1 star review because the sole on the left is already falling apart :(

    Serious durability issue

When brand new, the 13-EEE size felt great on my knees and feet (I supinate and have wide toes). They are relatively light, which is also nice. But I completely wore the tread off the outside ball of the sole in about 2 months (see image) and I only run about 10 miles a week (on pavement mostly). My knees are already complaining again. I'm working on my technique, but my GEL‑Contend 4 lasted about a year, so it's not all me. Maybe if the tread was more flat like the Contend (or the Venture-5 which is now sold-out in my size) it would last longer? All the little pointy bits wear out quickly!

Comfy, but soles wear out too quickly!

Haven't worn Asics in like 15 years. Wasn't sure about the color, but when I opened the box, liked them immediately. Cool looking shoes. Really comfortable. Tomorrow will be one week wearing them. Would give it more stars in comfort and how they look. But, there's always a but..., not even a week and the stitches are falling/breaking apart already. Was really hoping they were better shoes than I thought. Now I'll always be hesitant to buy Asics again. Gonna contact seller and see their answer. Will update.

    Nice shoes and comfortable, but...

The 11XW fit my wider foot perfectly, I wouldn't go beyond XW unless you have some WIDE feet! Breath well, the gel soles are so nice, my feet are still getting used to them but so nice.

The more subtle colors make them great to wear anywhere with a relaxed dress code.

Toe end is open, no seams rubbing the skin off pinky toes - Would purchase again!

the gel soles are so nice, my feet are still getting used to them ...

Out of the countless items I've bought from amazon through the years, I never would've expected a pair of shoes to be the crowning purchase to persuade me to write my first review, but here's why.

For a living I work in a factory under the job title of "Services", what this means pretty much is I'm an assistant supervisor. For example I keep track of cut numbers, sizes, bundle count, product progression, product disposal, mechanical issues, on spot inspection, the list goes on. There's 60 some people from the start of my production lines, to the end, spanned around 26 different sections/stations that I watch over and maintain throughout the day. Everything from moving material/machines, to even going and getting them drinks and snacks. Essentially what all this boils down to is I walk, a LOT. I'm talking you see those Dr Scholl commericals where it's like "John walks 16,000 steps a week and to help protect his feet and back he uses Dr Scholls" and I literally laugh because I do 15,000 steps before my first break at 9 in the morning. I average 25-30 miles a day walking that concrete floor. I've tried almost every pair of insoles, shoes, and the like that you can think of sold between Walmart, Shoe Show, Boot Barn, and beyond. Now here's the reason I'm writing this first ever review...

These Asics Gel-Venture 6 shoes are the FIRST and ONLY shoes that I've literally taken them out of the box, put them on, and managed to walk my full shift without having to change insoles or shoes all together. THERE IS NO BREAK IN TIME, they fit perfectly right out the box. I put them on at 5 AM the morning after I got them, and didn't take them off till my shower that night. Not only did they stay comfortable all day during work, but they kept my feet so supported and comfortable that I didn't take them off soon as I got through the door. That's saying a lot, cause even the $200+ dollar pair of work boots I have WITH a 100+ dollar set of doctor prescribed orthopedic insoles in them doesn't make it that far, yea they get me through work day pretty good but they come off soon as I hit the bedroom. These right here I didn't even have to change the "factory" insoles in. I literally took them out of the box, tied them onto my feet and was gone. My feet stayed nice and dry, they didn't fatigue or start straining halfway through the day, nothing.

NOW, I will admit, there are some downsides for me and they are as follows:

I do work in a factory, and these Asics, as amazingly close to perfection as they are, they are made out of a leather/cloth combination. Slipping a 2,000 pound loaded palletjacket over the toe of these will probably result in toothpaste toes compared to the nice sturdy steel toe of my boots. They aren't waterproof by ANY means. They do have really good grip BUT they are not slip resistant or oil resistant. Luckily my job doesn't require these factors, infact my job doesn't require anything other than "closed toe" footwear hence why I figured I'd give these badboys a try after having several coworkers recommend I get a pair. Another "downside" I would say, and this is more so just personal preference really is, I wish they made medium/hightop versions of these shoes, the extra ankle support would be amazing with these shoes. But yea, if these are requirements you need then you might want to keep looking however personally, I'd say find you a different job where you can wear a pair of these cause they are that amazing, Straight Out The Box!!

I have used these shoes for many years. The new model (8) has a slightly different toe design that causes the big toe to protrude into the mesh part instead of the leather part. It gradually (after a few hikes) start punching a hole in the mesh. Still the best trail shoes I know.

    Problem in the toe design

I have always own these type of shoes but for some reason these pair only lasted 3 weeks before the front rubber sole came separated.

Updated review I order the Asics 6 on March 1 , and again I have to request a refund because on one sneaker the rear sole is coming Apart , I don't know what happen when you find awesome sneakers and good quality and once they get popular it's not the same quality anymore .

I have always own these type of shoes but for ...

I have been running on the gel venture shoes for a couple of years. I run about 20 miles a week. My left ankle started to feel a bit pain about 5 years ago. I tried different kind of ASICS shoes, including kayano, nimbus, gt2000 and contend. At the end, my ankle doesn't hurt at all only when I run on venture. Very strange.
This pair of shoes are as good as all the other I bought previously. It came with the ASICS box, and brand new. I already wore it. It feels as good as all the others I had in the past. I like it very much.

I have nothing bad to say about these shoes! They are well made, I love that they were available in wide width and the price was great! They arrived sooner than I thought they would too. I was very leary about buying shoes on line but in this case I'm glad I did!

  10. This is my 4th pair of Asics running shoes and absolutely love them. They are light and comfortable. So comfortable it's almost like walking and running on sponges! The first pair I ever bought was at a big box sporting goods store. I fell in love with the Asics brand. I normally wear a size 9 to 9.5. The size that fit me best was the 10.5 with the Asics. Once those wore out I knew my size and have purchased every pair since on Amazon. Different models of these shoes do vary slightly in size however it's not that much. What I do if they are slightly tight is just loosen the laces and widen the opening down the top of the shoe consistently (see my photo). This works very well and I am so happy. People have written reviews mentioning sizing problems. However once you know your size in these particular shoes (or any brand for that matter) you are set to order through Amazon. If you have a wider fit make sure to order a wide size, the medium will certainly be too narrow. Another thing I really enjoy about these shoes are besides being so lightweight the mesh breaths very well. You can actually feel the airflow through them on a cool day. This helps air out your feet and prevents any odor inside the shoes. If you've never tried a pair of ASICS I highly recommend them.

Oh So Comfortable....feels like I'm Running On Sponges! Oh So Comfortable....feels like I'm Running On Sponges!

    Very happy with this purchase.

So I have the Gel Excite 2 in size 11.5 and they are finally falling apart. The Gel Excite 4s do not feel small or big. The fit is actually very similar. If anything they feel short or shallow, and not as supportive as the Gel Excite 2.

This got a little better after casually walking for 2 hours. I am guessing with time they will break in nicely and have an almost identical fit.

Update: I know my purchases are far between, but I keep several pairs of new gym on hand in case one needs immediate replacement. I used to buy this brand a lot, but the quality has way down. 2 pairs of shoes each lasting a month. See attached photo. I wear these shoes 1-2 hours a day exclusively in an indoor gym. Never worn outside. These shoes have gotten pathetic.

    Don't last a month anymore

Very comfortable. Soft, flexible, and they look and feel pretty durable. I wear a 12 4e in New Balance and Asics. These fit me well but they do run a little on the smaller side, so if you're between sizes or needing a wide width you might want to size up 1/2 size.

Bought the white/blue/silver version of this shoe. The Amazon images of them are really misleading. The shoe appears mostly gray on the product page but the actual shoes are a very bright white. I'll probably keep them but they won't stay white for long--I generally prefer shoes that start out a little darker to hide the dirt.

It seems to be getting harder to find a good pair of asics at a good price. I ordered these because they were listed as Amazon Prime 2 day shipping. It took a week to get them! After I ordered these I found them a couple of other places for $20 less without the two day shipping which I didn’t get anyway.
At least they are the proper size and a good color.
Why asics doesn't make more shoes that aren’t neon or weird colors is beyond understanding. Medium to higher priced asics are comfortable well made shoes. The cheaper asics are not the quality you would expect from asics. I used to be able to find good asics gel shoes for a lot less than they are priced now. Which makes me wonder if I should stock up on asics shoes now before I can’t find asics shoes I like in the future.
I do wear them out in 8-15 months. (Photo: Only a week and they are already dirty white shoes!)

Haven't worn Asics in like 15 years. Wasn't sure about the color, but when I opened the box, liked them immediately. Cool looking shoes. Really comfortable. Tomorrow will be one week wearing them. Would give it more stars in comfort and how they look. But, there's always a but..., not even a week and the stitches are falling/breaking apart already. Was really hoping they were better shoes than I thought. Now I'll always be hesitant to buy Asics again. Gonna contact seller and see their answer. Will update.

    Nice shoes and comfortable, but...

On the left in the photos are ASICS Mens Gel-Venture 6 (in Victoria Blue) with over 600 miles of trail & pavement logged on my running app. On the right (in Black/Phantom/Mid-Grey) are the replacement pair I just ordered from here on Amazon. My wear pattern is neutral-to-slight-supination. I jog & power-hike almost daily, pretty much 50/50 pavement and trail. Twelve to fifteen hundred miles annually. My take on these shoes is that they are superb training and activity shoes, the best performing shoes for the price that I have ever purchased. If you are a competitive runner, they could work for training quite nicely, but not for race day, capice? They breathe quite well. While not waterproof at all, the Gel-Venture 6 are NOT "moisture magnets" like many running shoes. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so mud and puddles are pretty much no surprise any day of the year. My training app tracks mileage on my shoes, and it shocked me to recently see that the blue pair (left in the photos) had gone over 600 miles - I was really not noticing degradation in the gel pads, and the soles are in outstanding condition. Normally, other shoes I have purchased have worn out soles and just plain hurt my feet after 4-500 miles. And that's why I recommend the ASICS Mens Gel-Venture 6 Running Shoe and purchased another pair. Enjoy - and remember to get outside every day - with high quality shoes and Smartwool socks, your feet will love you for it!

I've owned these shoes for 7 months. I use them for both running (2-3x a week) and walking and overall they do a fine job, but they are showing a lot more wear and tear than my previous pairs of Asics have (in the past).

I have a history of running cross country running and I would generally get about two seasons and several hundred miles (trail running) out of a pair of Asics before they started having issues.

I've noticed in the last two months that the color is fading into blue. The original color of the pair I bought was Black/Phantom/Mid Grey. This is an unacceptable drop in quality. My original Gel Craze shoes (which I use as work shoes now) still have their original brightness and color.

Additionally, there is wear and tear on the laces.

I always used to equate Asics with quality, but they are now on-par with low-mid range shoes for the same price.

This could also just be a over-priced knock off, based on other reviews.

I love ASICS running shoes and this one is no different.
The cushion feels great on the soles and it aesthetically looks awesome.

I had to return this, however, because this particular running shoes felt tight on my toes to the point where it hurt my toes to wear them.

My only dilemma now is whether I should reorder the same size but in x-wide version or to order half-size up...

If you are looking to purchase this running shoes, I suggest that you order half-size up or x-wide version for your size.

I am 30, a disabled veteran, husband, but generally considered a pretty hardcore guy. When I go in I go in all the way. I shoot, sport, work hard, and I am a no bs kind of spirit. I own a ton of shoes. I collect them. I have taken a picture of these with a couple thousand dollars of Air Jordans, Nike Lunars, and so on in the back to show validity for my basis and to give value to my unbias.

    These shoes are awesome.
    They look fantastic.

    The price was phenomenal

If your not a pain, and you are here to this point, they are the ones. Period.

Dont make us have both wasted our time for nothing, you and your hesitation a hindrance to my good word.

I have higher standards than you.

    I give them a pass.

It is now up to you, to either have been told and move forward, or concede to the contrary and disappointment yourself.

Awesome shoe! I’m a 9.5 wide and just found these. I had the exact same model a couple years back but it was only available in the non-wide style.
I have a rather wide foot. Normally you cannot find wide shoes. So I normally get the 9.5 and they would stretch out over time.
But these fit beautifully. I love the supper and use them for jogging and daily “drivers”.
I also often have hot feet. These breath so well that I never have a problem with them. :)

Super comfortable and light shoe! Super comfortable and light shoe! Super comfortable and light shoe!

Rough math has these at 500+ km of trail walking in just over 3 months. They've been brilliant and continue to be. Usually walk on rocky/muddy/gravel jungle trails, about 10% of the time it's raining and like walking in a creek but they've held up without a flaw.

I had a problem with the model 4's; there were too many gaps in the sole that exposed the mid-sole and meant that a well placed rock edge could pierce through to your foot, but that's been fixed in this model.

Love them, and this model (6) is FAR better than old

My previous tennis shoe I had for a long time. I’m not a runner but I wore to gym and I do a lot of walking. I found at the top of my feet there would be pain when wearing them even for a short time. I started researching and decided on the ASICS brand. Well I have only worn them a couple times so far but I have to say they fit true to size. They also are possibly one of the most comfortable athletic shoe I’ve ever worn. As to how they hold up time will tell

Fit was perfect. I wear 10 1/2. Extremely comfortable Fit was perfect. I wear 10 1/2. Extremely comfortable

I have had at least three pairs of ASICS similar to these. I wear a 3E so I get Extra Wide, and these are perfect for me. The quality is spot no, they are very comfortable and wear well. I managed to wear out the soles of my last pair as I wore them so much. Good support sides and back. I have plantar fasciitis and use Good Feet inserts and I have NO issues with PF pain or discomfort. good all around shoe for walking, running, etc.

Comfortable, well-made shoes! My 3rd pair. Comfortable, well-made shoes! My 3rd pair.

I got these for trail running on some pretty rocky trails and they're great for that. Comfortable out of the box (of course, this is probably my 7th or 8th pair of ASICS), never a hot spot, and a pretty tough last to protect the sole. I like them so much I decided to take them to hike the last 100 miles of the Long Trail, starting with a pack that had a full week's worth of food and 4 liters of water--45 lbs! These were completely up to the task, and 7 days of up and down mountains for 8-10 hours a day, kicking rocks and roots, the last 3-4 days completely soaked through--hardly dented them. I half expected them to be destroyed by the end, but I washed them pretty thoroughly and they're still in great shape, with literally dozens of runs left in them. Will naturally buy again.

Comfortable and durable Comfortable and durable

Be very careful with this shoe as it contains hazardous parts. There is a metal thing on each one of the holes where the laces go that may bend and may cut you when tying your shoes. That’s what happened to my husband just 6 weeks after purchasing this... the metal parts bended and cut his finger badly!!!!! Would not really recommend this shoe... too bad because they do look nice.

While searching for an affordable shoe, I ran across these. I was impressed with the reviews. I'm glad I bought these. I didn't have to break the bank to get a shoe that I could do it all in. I'm not over exaggerating either I literally do it all in these shoes. Great choice for an athletic person or for someone who just wants a quality shoe to grocery shop in. These are really comfortable and well made. You wont go wrong buying these shoes.

Great value. Great value. Great value.

    I am diabetic.
You say: "Removable Sockliner: A sockliner which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic." When I try to put my medical orthotic remove the original, I read size 11 when I bought 11 1/2. Look at the picture. How can be? I want my money back. I am not longer in USA.

    Too short

The pictures show the new Venture 6 left sneaker next to the Venture 5 right shoe.
I owned the previous model, Gel Venture 5, for years and loved them. The Gel Venture 6 significantly reduced the padding on the tongue and around the ankle. Also, the insole seems to have less cushion and arch support (although I didn't remove the two insoles to compare them) -- certainly they are less comfortable.
    Overall a disappointment.

much less padding and support compared to previous Gel Venture 5 model much less padding and support compared to previous Gel Venture 5 model

Have another Asics shoe Gel contend 3. Problem with this shoe is lack of grip on wet surfaces like tile or grass. They become really slippery. This new ones are head and shoulders above . Great.

Exactly what I was looking for !

Started running so I decided to buy some running shoes but did not want to spend a lot on the first pair. So I decided to go with a more "budget" running shoe and I am glad I picked these since they are really comfortable. I chose these due to the price, reviews and being the best seller here on amazon, so I assumed it would be a worthwhile purchase, which it is. Highly recommended, btw went with a subtle color scheme but will probably be getting other more "extravagant" color schemes soon.

Perfect fit, comfortable, relatively lightweight. Perfect fit, comfortable, relatively lightweight.

I recommend this shoe. I wear shoes that are 13 wide and these fit great. So comfortable for a tall person like me 6 foot 4, and 260 pounds. These shoes are like pillows for my feet. Get you some and you won't regret it!

Amazing, get it already! I will be getting another pair

I have the three other versions of these shoes and I love them. The shoes last me about 2 years and I use them for cross training, jogging, walking and hiking. The biggest difference that I can see with the 5 and 6 is that the 6 appears to have less arch from the outside of the shoe but have plenty of arch from the inside of the shoe. Also the souls of the new version have a lot of grooves that can be useful for cross training and hiking.

4th set of ASICS in about 8 years. 4th set of ASICS in about 8 years.

I love them, they are the best shoes I ever had, so light and comfortable, so good I bought a 2nd pair, cannot express how comfortable they are and received quick

Worth the buy!!! Worth the buy!!!

If you have wide feet then these are the shoes for you.

    Wide size and comfortable

These fit well, very light! No weird pains in my feet ankles knees hips, etc. since I started running in them.

    Fit right, very light!

I bought these shoes in march. They are very comfy but dont last very long if you are hard on shoes.

    Comfy but dont last

I finally had to upgrade from my old Asics and decided to give these a shot. Id give it a five star as it is extremely comfortable but I'm pretty neutral considering it came stained with a drip of who knows what. Sad

    Comfortable, get half size smaller

I bought these shoes 1 year 2 months 14 days 16 hours 7 minutes ago X 6 miles per day = 2,640 miles walked in these shoes and they’ve held up better than expected. The inside lining towards the heal has worn through. But the treads are in decent condition. Will be buying again.

I wanted to wear them as much as possible before writing about them, and now that i walked around 3 KM four days for 3 weeks ... i can say they are just great to walk long distances, on gravel, cement and rough road. comfortable and very resistant to shock. i recommend them with blind eyes. the only thing is that i was expecting a little bit more grip on wet surface

This is only the second time in my life i've had planters fasciitis. These honestly help my heel pain more than the shoes I had and more than the insoles I bought. I normally get New Balance for a wide shoe option. This is my first pair of Asics and ...so far... am very pleased.

Nice having a wide shoe option

Shoe seems fine so far, after one week of light use. But... troubling aspect. One of the shoe laces is already beginning to fall apart. I've worn them since receiving on October 5, 2018 (today is October 11th) - but only for walking around. Haven't even run in them yet. Makes me concerned about the long term. Left comment with the seller; will update with any new information.

    Like the shoe, but concerned...

Stitching broke on toe. As evident in pictures no damage to shoe. Only worn a half dozen times since purchase but outside return window. Maybe i just got a bad shoe but at this point probably would not buy again

I'm very disappointed I bought two pair and the black shoes already falling apart. The gum in nose already coming apart from shoe. My others no but the black

I jog 25 miles per week in NYC; I always run in cheap Saucony Jazz sneakers. I thought it was time for an upgrade; and assumed ASICS would be supportive and comfortable. I was wrong. These shoes are horrible. No ventilation and gave me knee pain. It feels as if you are fighting against the shoe as you jog.

    These shoes are horrible.

After 10 minutes of wearing, the right shoe began squeaking and vibrating, it felt like the glue is coming apart in middle. Noticed red layer or spot showing through backside of sole on left shoe.

the size chart on your amazon site shows US 9 is equal to euro 42 I got the asics clearly 42.5 which is too large

    wrong Size chart

I ordered a 9.5 since that is what I wear in other brands. I could have worn a 10 since the 9.5 was just a little snug. Not enough to really worry about but a half size more would be a bit more comfortable.

I have purchased Asics in the past and just like than they are ready to go right out of the box with no break-in. In the past I have gotten about a year of everyday use and expect the same this time. I will update if that changes. I bought these as trail walking and everyday use.

I did not have any issues like others have had. These shoes look new, unworn, and had all tags and packaging.

In the past I have had the issue of toe busting through. The material appears to be the same so I am expecting the same problem. However, I am always bumping into stuff so they do get a bit more of a beating than normal.

Asics is my go to brand and I would highly recommend them.

I've worn these shoes less than 10 times and the sole is already separating from the shoe. This was my first (and last) pair of ASICS. Unable to contact the seller to get an exchange/return.

They are sending a replacement set over the next 7 business days. Will followup once I receive replacements. Also I've added some images of the sole separating.

I loved the gel venture 5 from Asics. I usually wear a narrow if possible but finding neutral support shoes in narrow is like ordering tacos at a Chinese restaurant. I like making a heel lock with the two eyelets to accommodate my narrow heel.

The gel venture 5 was affordable, modestly cushioned, and had a tread that was suitable for light off-road jogging.

I was excited to try out the new Gel Venture 6 but quickly discovered Asics has removed the second eyelet, moving the only lacing eyelet up, so you get less pull on securing the heel.

See the included photo comparison, with the blue laced sneaker being the gel venture 5 (with heel lock loop) and the black laced sneaker being the gel venture 6.

    Poor Quality Control

I really, REALLY hate having to do this but man... was I disappointed. Ive been an ASICS snob for the last 5+ years and never had any issues. Ive owned a couple of Gel Venture 5s, and would no problem order more. I decided to move to the 6 since they were at a discounted price. They arrived in time. The shoe itself is good. New. Took them out of the box to feel the fit, and noticed something was off. Upon inspection, I noticed the insole didn't have the ASICS logo on it like all my other ASICS I own. The insoles were loose. They weren't ASICS insoles, but rather some other brand insoles. Both of them are used. One of the is ripped. I know its an oversight, but man...

    Notes on size

    4 stars

Ordered these for my son, but ordered incorrectly and both pairs ended up being too large, so I cannot comment on fit or running quality, yet. My rating here is based sole on visual inspection of the shoe and my experience with ASICS in the past. I am here to provide basic size info would-be buyers about the measurement of a 8.5 and a size 9. The size 8.5 (EUR 42) length measured 11.5" max at the bottom of the sole; the maximum external FABRIC dimension is 11.5" (exclusive of any rubber protuberance), to give one a better sense of how much space there is inside the shoe. I would not describe the shoe walls as particularly thick. For the size 9 (EUR 42.5), the length measured 11.75” long max, and a smidge over 10.75” from back of fabric heel to the tip of the toe (minus the rubber protuberance). The max width of the toe box for both shoes at the sole is 4.25” and 3.5” at the fabric (measured externally). There you have it.

Otherwise, The gray with orange sole and black accent stripes version is a very nice looking shoe. I have had generally good experience with ASICS (for me) in the past. I find ASICS to be a good lightweight shoe that I usually can find for a good price. They have tended to last for about a year to 1.5 year, using them several times a week, for 3-5 mile kinds of runs mixed trail and pavement type surfaces.

Now that I looked at them to take some photos of the damage I see the entire sole is falling apart. The last pair of Asics that I bought were outstanding and lasted about four years through some pretty rough treatment. I have been walking on the road for a few years now. I keep track of how many miles I get out of a shoe, before it needs replaced. These shoes, were my lowest mileage shoes ever! (by 97 miles!) These only lasted a total of 53 miles. Those miles, are gentle, walking on paved roads, in dry weather, always with Darn Tough socks, and alternating shoes every day, so they are never worn on consecutive days. I ended up wearing a small hole in the body of the Right shoe, around the Achilles tendon area. First time I have ever done that. Extremely uncomfortable to walk in after that, and I ended up having to call for a ride home today.

The shoes I was alternating with these, were a pair of Sketchers I received as a gift. The memory foam soles were not only more comfortable, they are still going. They were so much more comfortable, that I always ended up scheduling my long mileage days, on the days I was due to wear the Sketchers. They currently have almost 100 miles, and still appear brand new. (These Asics, except for the small hole, also appear new. The exterior held up great)

Be careful if you buy these shoes, the quality just isn't there. The worn hole is in a pretty bad spot for pictures, but I did my best in attaching a couple images showing it.

This was my first, and last Asics purchase, Ever.

I bought these in anticipation of doing some hiking in the Rocky Mtns this fall. I just got back from the trip last week. We put in about 70 miles on a variety of trails in Glacier, Jasper, and Banff National Parks. Within the first 20 miles the rubber began to peel back from the toes. They were the only shoes I took with me for hiking, so they got worn the entire trip. At this point, they are pretty badly beat up and wont last another hundred miles in a standard trail setting. No way they make it the 500 miles I expect a pair of shoes to last. My Asics running shoes are the best. These are the worst. I would love to have my money back, as I feel like 20 miles is a bit too early for the bottoms to begin peeling off.

20 miles in, they began to fall apart - i love asics shoes, but not these

I love asics shoes, but I literally only wore these around the house today for an hour or two and wore them to dinner last night and they're falling apart. I'm very disappointed.... my last pair lasted until the netting finally wore out (2+ years of heavy use)

Worn for less than a day and they're falling apart!! Worn for less than a day and they're falling apart!!

I am so glad I was able to find these they are exactly the same as my previous “trail runners” Formally called cross trainers as a extremely light and balanced running shoe. They are five star and I get so many compliments on the color although I was a little hesitant in the past because I was looking for solid RED just replace the exact ones that I had previously. Just be careful about the sizing because the size charts are not necessarily how the shoes are labeled for ASICS. Be careful that you don’t get an extra wide shoe by accident I had to return the first pair because the sizing is listed multiply and it is confusing.

A+ Cross training shoe for the price. Just be careful of sizing.

I am writing this review after using the shoes for 8-10 times in 2 months just for walking. I purchased this after returning another same shoe from Ascis. Reason for returning was I saw a couple of threads/stich ends that were open and visible. I feared that the thread would come off and hence decided to return and buy another one. The second one that I am using currently did not had the open ends of stiches. So was happy to keep it. First a few good points. The shoe looks good. Got complement's from friends. Very comfortable especially with the wide front portion. But now after 8-10 times of use, I see a thread/stich has started to come off (Check the snap). Hence very disappointed. Planning to use glue to fix it. Hope it helps. I would like to advise that you thoroughly check the stiches to ensure there are no open ends that may come off.

Well we purchased two pair of shoes. One pair immediately wore out, by separating at the sole where the toe off takes place, with in the first week's so returned them without issue. I purchased another pair thinking it was a one off situation. Well sure enough the brand new pair after the first month separated in the same place. After this experience I will not be purchasing another pair of Asics, keep in mind this is the third time this is happened in total with Asics band shoes.

The fit is a bit narrow, but that was expected. I use these for the gym and they have helped tremendously with my planters fasciitis-this was my initial reason for the purchase. As far as a trail shoe-I can't imagine running on anything even remotely wet with these. They are EXTREMELY slippery on wet surfaces.
Unfortunately the sole of the shoe is coming off as of today. This is after about 2 months. I am not sure if I just got a lemon or not, I have not had this happen with prior Asics.

The fit is a bit narrow, but that was ...

Asics shoes have always been great to me! I know everyone is different but since I wear them for work, working out, and daily wear. I wear asics at least 15 hrs a day! These shoes are great at work because I wear them for 12 without issue and they have excellent shock absorption that I'll need for hiking! They are the best looking shoe compared to my Training shoes but I wear them for comfort! I suggest this shoe to anyone. However, go to a store that sells asics and try on a pair first because I am normally a 12 but I only buy asics in 11.5!

Haven't worn Asics in like 15 years. Wasn't sure about the color, but when I opened the box, liked them immediately. Cool looking shoes. Really comfortable. Tomorrow will be one week wearing them. Would give it more stars in comfort and how they look. But, there's always a but..., not even a week and the stitches are falling/breaking apart already. Was really hoping they were better shoes than I thought. Now I'll always be hesitant to buy Asics again. Gonna contact seller and see their answer. Will update.

    Nice shoes and comfortable, but...

I have used these shoes for many years. The new model (8) has a slightly different toe design that causes the big toe to protrude into the mesh part instead of the leather part. It gradually (after a few hikes) start punching a hole in the mesh. Still the best trail shoes I know.

    Problem in the toe design

First serious Amazon Review First serious Amazon Review

This one works for me This one works for me This one works for me

  9. Just put em on.Go a half size larger with the Numbus 20's! My big toe is close to touching the front of shoe but isn't. I will order a half size larger next time cause I like a little more wiggle room for my big toe. Feel,is like walking on jelly fish, nice n squishy with enough bounce return? This new jacquard mesh material up front feels more durable. I like em right out of the box, good sign. Material around ankle opening and tongue is new, feels more durable. Usually the previous material they used in the surounding ankle area would fall apart after removing, putting on shoe after a month. New shoe laces are alittle springy, have a little stretch. Will be using these for walking at work delivering Fedex Express packages. Less ankle support than kayano, I think, but damn comfy n squishy/springy. Get half size larger!

I’ve only had these shoes for 19 days and I’m disappointed in the amount of wear on the tread already. I’ve only gone 74.5 miles WALKING, but at this rate the shoes are going to be wore down to nothing before long. I’ve owned three different versions of Nimbus over the past few years for running- the 20s are the most disappointing version and I haven’t even taken them running yet.

    I wouldn’t buy them again.

I liked them until I noticed the tread wear after 19 days. I liked them until I noticed the tread wear after 19 days.

Product has a weak spot where the fabric is placed over the shoe shell. When running this creates friction which tore it open. Overtime the shoe shell will continue to poke through and eventually rub-up against my ankle when running. I've only put maybe 10 miles on the shoe and had it for a little under a month. Not sure if defect from this one shoe series or not but I am returning it.

I wore N18 size 10 2E before. After Nimbus became smaller, I have to increase the size number to 10.5 for N20. fortunately width D(M) is ok for me.
As I always prefer small heel to toe drop due to plantar fastiitis, I always cut away the rubber of the shoe heel as shown in the photo.
Quality is good as usual. I didn’t give a five-star because its size keeps changing and the heel to toe drop is high for forefoot strikers.

There is something wrong with these shoes, the box is plane and doesn't say asics or anything, ok maybe they are like that, then they are missing the insole. For sure I don't think this supposed to be like that. I returned and didn't want to take a risk of an exchange. And the size was huge. Check the size chart, probably you are not getting the right size

Haven't worn Asics in like 15 years. Wasn't sure about the color, but when I opened the box, liked them immediately. Cool looking shoes. Really comfortable. Tomorrow will be one week wearing them. Would give it more stars in comfort and how they look. But, there's always a but..., not even a week and the stitches are falling/breaking apart already. Was really hoping they were better shoes than I thought. Now I'll always be hesitant to buy Asics again. Gonna contact seller and see their answer. Will update.

    Nice shoes and comfortable, but...

Falling apart after only a couple weeks use. The soles have orange lugs for aggressive traction. The lugs are separating on these after only a couple weeks of light use. Now that I looked at them to take some photos of the damage I see the entire sole is falling apart. The last pair of Asics that I bought were outstanding and lasted about four years through some pretty rough treatment. I haven't even had the chance to get rough with these yet and they are already causing me to trip because the sole is catching on everything as I walk or run. Fit is good, comfort is good. Quality of make/materials is horrible.

Excellent Value, Incredibly Comfortable, Great shock absorption!

  8. These are not a quality shoe. I expected ASICS to have a durable long lasting shoe, but I have worn these maybe a dozen times and they still look new, but the sole is already falling apart.
Please see photos. My use has consisted of jogs around the neighborhood, so the usage cannot be the cause.

Seems to be luck of the draw because I saw similar reviews, but it's usually too late to return once this happens. Very frustrating.

Falls apart with minimal usage. Good looking. Falls apart with minimal usage. Good looking. Falls apart with minimal usage. Good looking. Falls apart with minimal usage. Good looking.

Update on July 5. I have received my second pair of these in a different color. Comfortable shoe and will serve the purpose for the price. I still expect them to not last too long, as I detailed in my previous message about my first pair (follows). I have also included a photo of the sole issue I had with the first pair.
First Review - I actually tried 3 different sizes before I got the correct fit. Usually wearing 10.5 in Vasque Juxt and a different pair of Asics road shoes. 11 is what it took with these. I used them on rocky trails in Phoenix, AZ, and liked the grip and traction. Lasting power was not great. The toe cap started coming off early, though didn't come off all the way. I just also lost a section of the tread from the bottom of the shoe. Seems like the tread is glued on in sections to the actual sole plate. I did use them hard and for the price I am going to get another pair. If they were more expensive, it may not be worth it.

Some good, some not so much

Was a great shoe, go hiking in them all the time. They are starting to wear down on the soles though. I'm not sure if the rubber compound on the bottom was made for hard rocks. *update* 6/4/17 part of the heel broke off. I am really disappointed in this shoe now. It didn't hold up the way I thought it would.

Great shoe at first, many flaws after a few weeks Great shoe at first, many flaws after a few weeks Great shoe at first, many flaws after a few weeks

3rd pair of Asics and so disappointed. The first two wore out the toe area within 3 months. The last pair, a piece of the sole fell off. The spongy plastic tore and a section of rubber came off at the heel. Too bad the quality is so poor because they are comfortable. This is probably my last time giving Asics a shot.

    Poor quality construction.

I wanted to like the sandstorm version more but I could not get past the orange color. It looks very orange in person. From the pictures it looked like it was going to be more yellow.

They have a great amount of eye catching detail on every corner, like the checkered heel pull and this gel-honey comb thing on the heel. I dislike plain flat surface shoes that look more like a sock with laces. In the end I preferred the onyx version which has silver paint that catches the light. (Though I would have liked the sole to be all black instead of white.)

Aside from the toe box being a little tight as others have said they fit pretty comfortably. This is more noticeable if you try to run so maybe go a half size up if you plan to do so. It did kind of press up on the outside of my feet at first, but I got used to it. I don't like squeaky shoes so I was pleased that these were very quiet. I did not test these on the trail because I plan to use these just casually and I don't want to get them beat up.

Hopefully future versions of this shoe will have more colors I like. So far I would buy again.

Great design, colors are off from pictures. Great design, colors are off from pictures.

I am a lady who wears normal shoes 9.5M, Eur 41. I prefer men sneakers Eur 42, 26.5CM , as they fit better (for me) and I always focus on the CM while choosing size. The seller was very helpful during the pre - purchase process , since I had some questions. I took my first jog on the road then to the beach . The shoes are superbly comfortable considering I experience heel pains and recovering from Plantar Fascitis . I did not experience any pain or discomfort at all while jogging with these shoes. I definitely would recommend them !!!!

Superbly comfortable and just right Superbly comfortable and just right

Excellent trail running shoes, I wear 10.5 in pretty much all of my shoes. I ordered 10.5 with these shoes and they fit perfect. I ran today for the first time with them. I live in Oregon and they where comfortable running on rocky, hilly terrain. I would highly recommend them!

Excellent trail running shoes! Excellent trail running shoes!

So I bought these for work. I am on my feet about ten hours a day on concrete. They are amazing. Been wearing them at work for about a month and the soles haven't broken down yet. Moreover I've taken them hiking several times and they are even more amazing for this as well. The outsoles are sticky enough to climb steep smooth rock, rugged enough to handle all terrains, and flexible enough to actually run comfortably in. The best part about these is that they are simply comfortable all the time.
The only downside is water resistance ends as soon as water hits the top of the shoe, but it dries quickly.
I will buy these again when I'm ready for new shoes.

So I bought a second pair when I was ready for a new pair. They were great for a while. However they were quickly broken in. Quicker than the previous pair. Once broken in, they quickly started coming apart. The sole started to separate from the toe of the shoe. Then part of the outer sole near the heel came off completely on both shoes. Then mid hike, the outer sole came off completely on one of the shoes. Where my toes rub the inside of the shoe wore a hole completely through after only two months. These shoes are initially very comfortable and good. After a short time though, only three months, they completely fell apart.

Good for play. Good for work. Will buy (not) again. (Update/edit) Good for play. Good for work. Will buy (not) again. (Update/edit)

I think this shoe would make a great running shoe for concrete and roads, but it did not hold up for me with hiking. After a few hikes (not trail running), a piece of the sole already starting coming off (see picture). There was a lot of scrambling and climbing on the hike, so it was on very rugged terrain when it broke. The foam layer is very thick, which makes it very comfortable (and potentially a great concrete running shoe for people who need very cushioned shoes), but I think it also makes the the sole easily prone to break off when used on rough terrain. Bottom line: it didn't work well for me as a hiking shoe, but I think it would be a great shoe for people looking for a running shoe with lots of cushion that's not used on very rugged terrain.

Haven't worn Asics in like 15 years. Wasn't sure about the color, but when I opened the box, liked them immediately. Cool looking shoes. Really comfortable. Tomorrow will be one week wearing them. Would give it more stars in comfort and how they look. But, there's always a but..., not even a week and the stitches are falling/breaking apart already. Was really hoping they were better shoes than I thought. Now I'll always be hesitant to buy Asics again. Gonna contact seller and see their answer. Will update.

    Nice shoes and comfortable, but...

I have used these shoes for many years. The new model (8) has a slightly different toe design that causes the big toe to protrude into the mesh part instead of the leather part. It gradually (after a few hikes) start punching a hole in the mesh. Still the best trail shoes I know.

    Problem in the toe design

  9. The toe portion of the shoe is already coming off. Not just on one, but both. I expected better from Asics.

Already falling apart after light usage. Wish I could return. :/

Falling apart after couple weeks of light use. Falling apart after couple weeks of light use. Falling apart after couple weeks of light use. Falling apart after couple weeks of light use. Falling apart after couple weeks of light use. Falling apart after couple weeks of light use.

Developed a hole after 53 easy miles Developed a hole after 53 easy miles

Thread / Stitch coming off Thread / Stitch coming off

Well we purchased two pair of shoes. One pair immediately wore out, by separating at the sole where the toe off takes place, with in the first week's so returned them without issue. I purchased another pair thinking it was a one off situation. Well sure enough the brand new pair after the first month separated in the same place. After this experience I will not be purchasing another pair of Asics, keep in mind this is the third time this is happened in total with Asics band shoes.

    Separating at the toe off

  7. I’ve had ASICS on/off for many years. This was my first ‘Court’ pair. I’m a size 11.5/12 Men’s US. if I’m buying online I tend to go for the larger. In this specific case, this very pair, they are just a tad too big. But I kept them nonetheless simply because I didn’t fully realize it till after I wore them once or twice outside. So I’m keeping them as a spare/backup extra pair. The cushioning is good. They’re aestheticly pleasing and are casual enough to go w/ jeans or chinos besides obviously athletic wear. Laces are a bit long, and only came w/ the one red set. It would’ve been nice to get a white pair too/ ironically lately it’s been difficult finding regular athletic white adult size laces in stores. overall, I like these a lot. Just know they run on the larger side.

  10. Asics Gel-Kayano looks great and is the only brand/product that I comfortably can say fit my feet perfectly every time and and let me run without any of my feet start aching. Technically Asics Gel-Kayano is a great running shoe, fits the feet well, gives great support to your feet when running and the "gel" technology protects the knees! Most other shoes from other vendors gives me problems one way or another when running.

The only drawback with Asics Gel-Kayano in general (though not with this pair yet) - which to me is an annoying and unnecessary issue but has been consistent over the last five-six years years and my approximately 15th pairs of Asics - is that each Asics Gel-Kayano pair does not look good for long. After relative short period of time (frequently only a month in of using them) a hole will start appearing in the upper part of the shoe covering your toes (hole in the mesh toe cap). I wish Asics would recognize and correct this flaw because the hole in the toe cap look bad in an otherwise almost new shoe (and people who don't have Asics frequently ask what has happened) but it is the same issue every time and has happened to all my previous pairs over the years but it has never happened to any other brand I have used. I have pointed out this issue (flaw) directly to Asics but the refer to warranty and I did send one pair once that I got replaced and they only lasted one month again before it was a new hole in one of shoes again. I had shoes replaced twice but who has time to continuously send the shoes in for warranty replacement only to get a new pair with the same issue? However, even with the holes the shoes can be used (and the only one that I feel comfortable with) but this issue is annoying and the shoes look bad almost immediately (see photo of my previous pair - not the latest).

In short the Asics Gel-Kayano is a great running shoe that fits your feet well, providing excellent stability and support for your feet and they are a savior for your knees but don't expect them to look good or last for long.

Fits well and and a blessing for my feet.

What a great fit. I have flatter feet and am right on the border of D and EE (for width). Most times D is just a touch too narrow but a EE is too wide even for thicker socks. This is the first time trying the Kayano and I didnt expect them to be any different. I was wrong. A perfect fit. The little bit extra in the toe box is an added bonus. The cushioning caught me by surprise. I knew it felt good, but until I put on my older shoes I didn’t realize just how much. As for the looks.....I didnt want to go dark and am not usually a fan of white color. However, the mix of colors with the white looks very sharp.
Now with all this said, I have only walked in them. I have yet to run, but I am now sure they will work well.
I may order a second pair just for running indoor while the other can be an all around show. Sure they are not cheap, but many times you need to pay more for what is best for you.

Great fit, excellent comfort and sharp looking

I am very dissapointed in these shoes. The very first time I laced them up and attempted to tie them one of the holes where the laces go through ripped. I have been a Brooks fan for a long time but was actually excited to try Asics for once. I will say that for $160.00 the quality of this shoe is something you would find in Nike or Reebok not an elite running shoe. As of now I would convince people to steer clear of kayano 25s.

Very Poor Quality. Very Poor Quality.

I run about a hundred miles a month at about 6 to 10 miles a pop, running a Half Marathon once every month. I am a 200 lbs overpronator , so I need a serious stability shoe on my long runs. I had used the adidas ultaboost st before purchasing this Kayano.
I have run in these Kayano shoes for 81 miles to date, and here's my verdict:
1- The sole seems to be much more durable than the adidas ultraboost st shoes (it is certainly a lot thicker)
2- The upper is very comfortable and the fit is nice.
    but:
1- the Kayano 24 does not seem to hold my heel very well in place, I need to tie the shoe real tight to make it stick to my feet better.
2- I do feel like my feet are rolling inwards, and now after my runs i feel real pain in my hips and legs, the same exact pain I get when i run in my other neutral shoes.
3- The front cushion could be thicker, and the Kayano 24 certainly feels less comfortable in the forefoot section on long runs than the adidas ultraboost st.

I am afraid I am a bit disappointed in this shoe. It should be better. especially after 24 iterations.

    I expected a lot better!

I upgraded my GK23's to the 25 (mostly because I couldn't find a pair of 23s to buy). I had the 23s for a little over a year and I am very happy with the purchase. I did not try them on before buying (scary...) but I bought the same size (12) and they fit great! They definitely feel less "squishy" but in a good way compared to the 23s. I really like this pair.

60 miles and they started to fall apart. These are my first Asics sneakers and I was very surprised. Very low quality.
And they can not be returned! Seller "BGA Distribution" is not responding. Stay away from this model and this seller.

Haven't worn Asics in like 15 years. Wasn't sure about the color, but when I opened the box, liked them immediately. Cool looking shoes. Really comfortable. Tomorrow will be one week wearing them. Would give it more stars in comfort and how they look. But, there's always a but..., not even a week and the stitches are falling/breaking apart already. Was really hoping they were better shoes than I thought. Now I'll always be hesitant to buy Asics again. Gonna contact seller and see their answer. Will update.

    Nice shoes and comfortable, but...

I have used these shoes for many years. The new model (8) has a slightly different toe design that causes the big toe to protrude into the mesh part instead of the leather part. It gradually (after a few hikes) start punching a hole in the mesh. Still the best trail shoes I know.

    Problem in the toe design

First serious Amazon Review First serious Amazon Review

  9. ASICS is my go-to brand for running shoes. My feet never fatigue in them. I have weak ankles, and these shoes are excellent at stabilizing them. For the people complaining that these shoes are not comfortable enough- Running shoe insoles are intended to be replaced. That’s half the comfort, right there. I’d recommend the Sof Sole (Arch or Athletic) Performance Inserts. Then throw on some cushioned athletic socks, and BAM! The most comfortable shoes you’ve ever owned! I’ve read reviews saying the toe box is narrowing with the newer models, but I’ve noticed they’re using a stretchier material that allows your toes to spread, just the same. I think it’s an improvement; and that’s coming from someone with long monkey toes, that require extra space.

Great running/walking/standing shoes! Great running/walking/standing shoes!

After a small stress injury from running on the treadmill caused me to visit a physical therapist I was told I had a problem overpronating. They gave me exercises and recommended I get new shoes while mentioning the ASICS brand. My first response was “These are way too expensive.” but after continuing to visit the gym with a growing desire for higher impact exercises than the elliptical I caved and bought these. If you have other foot issues, I would recommend checking the ASICS website and cross referencing prices on Amazon.

After working with them for a few weeks I can definitely say I notice a difference while I work out and after I work out. They are actually MAKING my arches rise and my outer foot take a lot of the pressure without me even noticing. They’re a miracle and I’m happy I didn’t try to get inserts form a doctor instead.

I took the reviews to heart and bought a pair a half size bigger than I normally would and they’re still a bit snug but manageable because I wear thin socks. They’re also much more lightweight than they look.

I usually am opposed to wearing sneakers at all (I’m not into the sporty look) but they are more subtle and less boxy than any other sneakers I’ve ever owned! I would absolutely recommend to anyone!!

    Lightweight, Stylish, Good for Overpronating

These shoes are incredibly comfortable! They are very snug though, especially when you first put them on. The day I received them, I wore them around the house for about 15 minutes (that was all). The very next morning the toe box was already stretched out just enough that it was comfortable. Reviews had stated to order a half size up; I didn’t, and they still fit just fine. I have square feet and typically go for wide width or mesh shoes that can stretch, and these are still incredibly comfortable. Snug enough and warm enough that I don’t feel like my ankles are rolling around and I can wear in winter, but not so tight my feet can’t breathe. Definitely recommend!

  9. This is a real review. I am years of wearing Asics. I have noticed that in the last 2-3 years they are cutting the space of the interior of the shoe. They are not as wide, sadly. Notice the pic where I compare the Gel Noosa Tri 9 To this shoe. Shoes placed on their side. If you notice the gel 4 has a hard sew to the base of the shoe with a plastic design. The Tri 9 does not, Which allows the shoe to give more at the widest part of your foot! If the widest part of your foot is not a problem then you will have no problem with these shoes! I have a moderately wide foot and wish they had not sown that plastic all away down the side of the shoe. Color is very evident in the picture of the shoes lined up together. My shoes came pre laced and I loosened them considerably allowing more give to the widest part of my foot. The length of the shoe is exactly the same as the Tri 9. I wear an 81/2 shoe and a 9 boot but I order Asics shoes in a 10 M and length is good because I hate a cramped toe box. I have put 55 miles on these shoes and NO BLISTERS! ASICS is still my go to shoe!

I still love Asics! I still love Asics! I still love Asics!

One positive, I love the color. But I noticed that the box had Asian writing on one of the corners making me wonder if I got sent an imitation knock-off. Size fitted as expected. I would NOT recommend these shoes for a stand-up / walking job. In about 3 to 4 days, I no longer felt the gel support. Upset that they failed so quickly. In less than 6 weeks the glue binding at the tip of one of the shoes came undone. They survived the 6 weeks that I needed them for, but I would have liked it if they would have lasted longer. Last year, my Saucony's lasted way longer; I still have those as an emergency back-up pair. These Asics I will probably have to throw away if I can't find a new insert to put in them.

Shoes are slightly snug, but they are stretching to fit and are comfortable. Color in picture is misleading. They are much darker actually.

I did 45,000 steps from DTLA to the beach this past weekend, on concrete sidewalks, and have zero blisters and my feet feel great. My ankles are slightly sore, but that's it. I have been wearing these shoes for 2-3 months doing 3 mile treadmill walks, so it wasn't a guaranteed proposition. But I am so happy; they held up great, and I'm wearing them now!

I'm an 8-1/2 solid, but I bought a 9-1/2 so I could wear thicker socks and have room in the toe box. I thought I bought too big, but they tie perfectly around my foot and don't slide, so the extra room is just good toe wiggle room. My heels are slightly narrower than some but the ball of my foot is normal; not narrow, not wide. (I have had 9's in this brand before, so the 9-1/2 was kind of an accident. For exercise, they are just right with the socks. ) These shoes could be a bit heavier than some people like, but I really love them.

45,000 steps in 8 hours and still going strong

I purchased these running shoes mid July. It has been 2 months and they are already terribly ripped around the mesh. It's a fairly large hole specifically where my big toe is on my right shoe and it's starting to appear on the same part on the left shoe. I mainly only walk around parks or streets (ie. concrete) in these shoes but for the first month I had them I ran a mile every day. I'm not rubbing the shoes on anything. I don't drag my feet. It's just a terrible mesh. I had a pair of Brooks that lasted 2 years before it started falling apart. When I ran in high school several years ago I never had problems with Asics brands. This is the absolute worst pair of shoes I've bad so far because it will probably only last another month. A 3 month shoe for $60 is not worth it.

    Mesh ripping after 2 months.

I ordered the lapis/hot pink/safety color. I am disappointed that the actual shoe color is much darker than what is pictured. I would call the true color TEAL, not a mint green like the Amazon photo. As far as sizing, you will need to go up at least a 1/2 size. I typically wear 7.5 but I needed an 8 in this shoe. Very comfortable and supportive shoe.

Watch out for sizing and color discrepancies!

    DON'T DO IT!!!

UPDATE: I decided not to return my shoes b/c they stretched-out about 2wks after wearing them. That said, I should have listened to my instincts (and the other reviews)... LESS THAN 2MOs LATER, THERE'S A HUGE HOLE IN MY SHOE. The mesh on these shoes are super thin. I'd suggested you choose a different pair, as I've only been walking this pair and there's already a hole. Smh!!

JULY '18 REVIEW: Great color(s) but too narrow and not enough support. I have a few other Asics but these are the worst! I can barely get through the day without shaking/stretching my foot because my feet are in pain. I'm returning these ASAP!

    DON'T DO IT!!!

I’m a long time ASICS wearer, they fit my narrow feet perfectly. I wasn’t sure about ordering them on amazon but I decided to take a chance. My others ASICS were a 10.5 but that was during my pregnancy so I ordered a size 10 and they fit perfectly. I love how light they are and I’m in love with the color!!!!! A lot of people will complain about getting holes in the toes but i think it’s just normal. I walk 3 miles 5 days a week so I expect holes . I’ll always wear ASICS

Great shoe and even better color!

I bought this shoe about a month ago and wear it only twice a week for indoor excersize. Within a month the tip of the shoe binding on both feet is peeling off. I’ve always bought ASICS brand tennis shoes and have never had this problem.

I was sent a defective product

The shoes themselves are fine. Fit well, work well for my plantar fasciitis. The mesh covering the entire shoe is another matter. I’ve had these shoes less than 6 months and after just normal walking and wear, they are tearing so badly I can hardly use them! They have nothing inside as cover once the mesh tears. Your toes are just exposed. I’ve never had this problem with the ASICS before. This one is just a bad design.

    Horrible design.
